This isn't intended to be a troll thread, I'm simply creating this because I'm outraged over what PainUser has done and how no one has really done anything about it.
As most of us already know, PainUser decided to forfeit a match against Boxer without notifying any of the NASL officials. This really destroys the integrity of Starcraft as it heads into mainstream. Most of you probably already know that.
Notwithstanding the fact that Painuser took a spot in the NASL when there were seemingly more deserving players, my biggest issue is that the Starcraft community as a whole has done nothing. As of writing this, he's still featured in the Live User Streams, he's still on Inside the Game, and he's a main caster in one of the biggest SC2 tournaments running now (the IPL).
How could we ask someone with an apparent lack of integrity represent the community? DJWheat must surely know that there are other people with a better insight to the game that dropping Painuser would be the first step in showing that this community, doesn't stand for something like that. He ripped off paid subscribers (me included) from seeing Boxer.
Please tell me this behavior at least irks you a bit? There are much more deserving people out there than him based on his recent behavior. It is completely unacceptable.

His punishment will probably be given out in the form that he won't get invited to as many tournaments in the future. Especially league based tournaments. He hurt his reputation by his actions.
He's cost himself a lot by not playing out the rest of his games.
|
You really serious? You want the whole community to do something about a player's personal action? You're a little bit getting too involved with the game.
|
Many of the players consider the NASL a joke and doesn't give the tournament respect stuff like this has been happening alot lately.
|
I agree.
I also think that 3 (?) W.O. in a row for Artosis is pretty poor as a lot of people really look up to him
|
Incontrol has already posted that it has been handled, and the miscommunication has been settled. EVEN IF he were to have never told anyone at the NASL, you are going to take one mistake and ruin the man's career over it. Over one mistake...
Chill out buddy, grab a beer. At least give Painuser a little slack. We are all humans, and humans make mistakes.
|
Some other people have shit to do, where sc2 isnt the first thing. Who knows he probably had better more personal stuff to take care of. And besides he has been in the community a top 100 player and deserverd the spot. Please take your rage elsewhere. Just because people don't show for matches doesnt mean they don't deserve it. plus its the last week of nasl.
|
More a problem with the NASL than the players tbh.
Plus he's right about DTs and Banshees so i can never hate on the guy.
*high fives PainUser*
|
If NASL was ever as good as GSL, I'd be with you, OP.
But... it's NASL, man.
|
It's bullshit what artosis and painuser are doing to the nasl.
User was warned for this post
|
CatsPajamas explained why he forfeited.
You are way over-reacting...
Edit: My previous comment before CatsPajamas explained things + Show Spoiler +I cite Naniwa as a redemption story.
Who knows Painuser may turn out to make a change like Naniwa. Nothing really to say about this other than it is disappointing.
He is getting punished with the forfeit and he may end up with a reputation if he does it again, but as above, you are taking this way too seriously.
|
This is just overkill. Do you want people to take up the pitchforks and go for a witch hunt? Leave the issue to the NASL.
|
Yay for a troll who posted just as PainUser starts to stream. I don't like the walkovers, but I can't do anything about them. It's been handled by the proper people, why beat a dead horse.
|
I think you are overreacting a bit.
If he isn't willing to put forth the effort that NASL expects then he simply won't be invited back for Season 2. If this behaviour ends up extending to his other commitents such as Inside the Game then that's the problem of the other show hosts and it's up to them to decide what to do.
Players should be policed by their employers not their fans.

Hey, just to give you guys a heads up, he has strep throat. I work with him 8 hours a day, and he's been very sick. Sorry he hasn't played up to your expectations.
EDIT: He also had to cancel his appearance on ITG and EGMC this week because of his illness.
|
Someone has to give me a roadmap on how to ruin a SCII player because I have no idea how you actually rip people out of tournaments as a spectator.

Well, to be fair it was more than one mistake. He didn't show up for like 3 weeks I think. But yeah boycotting him is kinda lol
|
So what? It's NASL's issue. They did handle it. You want to chase him tared and feathered around town?
|
I'm curious as to how much attention this would have got if it was against a player other than Boxer?
|
It is funny how people think that artosis is not showing up, he still doesn't have internet at his house and HAS NOTIFIED the admins. Painuser, not so much.
