During the Swedish E-sport Talkshow "Rakt på med Rakaka" Rakaka together with Logitech presented that we will host Rakaka Logitech Starcraft 2 Tournament. The winner of the tournament will get a payed trip to South Korea and live in the GSL House and compete in the GSL for one month (with possibilities to extend the stay). The trip back and forth to South Korea plus money for subsistence with a total value of 15 000 SEK is what's up for grabs provided by Logitech. There will also be product prizes from Logitech Gaming Gear for top three placers.

This is a Sweden only tournament and the purpose is to create the "next Jinro" to represent Swedish E-sports in the number one Starcraft country South Korea in the best and most competitive Starcraft 2 league in the world, GSL.The winner will be able to decide when during the summer when he wants to attend, so it will not be strict into specific dates. The player will represent himself and his organization, Rakaka and Logitech is only hosting the tournament.

Ten players will be invited and two open qualifiers will be organized. The main tournament will be divided into two groups with six players of round robin, BO3. More information about rules, maps and the invited players will be announced later.

Aslo worth mentioning is that the whole Tournament by Rakaka and Logitech will be promoted nationally in Sweden in electronic stories like Webhallen.

The tournament will be casted in Swedish by Rakaka Live that has casted mainly Counter-strike 1.6 prior to this event on all kinds of different event such as IEM CeBIT World Championship, Dreamhack Winter and Summer together with partners as MSI and Asus. The commentators will be the host Slop3, tournament organizer Hellspawn and expert commentators Naniwa and LaLush. (replays will be publicized for English casters after each day.)

Schedule:
Open Qualifiers: 9th and 10th of April (open sign up at Rakaka Logitech, no stream)
19:00 CET 13th of April Group play - Streamed by Rakaka Live
19:00 CET 20th of April Group play - Streamed by Rakaka Live
19:00 CET 27th of April Group play - Streamed by Rakaka Live
19:00 CET 4th of May Group play - Streamed by Rakaka Live

19:00 CET 11th of May Semifinals+Final - Streamed by Rakaka Live

Wait, what? I thought the undisputed best player of Sweden was Jinro? He's been tearin' up the GSL for a while...

I feel like Naniwa might deserve it though,. he's been great in the Gosu Coaching League lately!
A time to live.

As per usual foreigners in Korea are considered Korean unless they're facing Koreans in which case they are foreigners.

*This post is a copy of my post in another, obviously not official, thread*

So great! Although some players might favor NASL/EU tourneys over this. Just the experience of having been to Korea and played will help a lot, even though the winner might not make it in to code S.

I can add, that during the live show "Rakt på med Rakaka"(Straight on with Rakaka) where the tournament was announced, they also mentioned that the winner will get the opportunity to live in a 'real' Korean progaming house for a couple of days or so, like oGs, ST etc. and that depending on how GOM deciedes to do regarding invites, the player might get a direct invitation to code A, like they gave Huk, haypro etc.

They seem to be very serious and have an official agreement with GOM, making all this very legit.

Some players to consider for the invites:

Lalush
Naniwa
(prolly invited due to their casting assignments)

SjoW
MorroW
Sase
Thorzain
Merz
Naugrim
Jimpo
Madfrog
Bischu

Some less likely:
Seiplo
Zpux
Cytoplasm
Fury

Thats pretty huge. If you think about it its an all expenses paid holiday to korea for 1 month. Housing is provided by gom and logitech gives you spending money. Pretty sweet deal even if you dont get far in code A.

(T)SjoW vs (Z)MorroW Those two have practicly been dominating the domestic scene.
Also interested in seeing

(P)Bischu
Edit
(T)Jimpo
(Z)MaDFroG. He rode his wc3 fame for a while, he's average at most. Don't expect anything from him.

I think nAniwa will be able to take the tournament, but ThorZain, MorroW, or SjoW could also win.

Just wanted to note, since people in the other thread have been talking about "doing in Code A", the winner gets his trip paid to try qualifying for Code A. Whether he manages it is another story. Or, who knows, maybe he'll even get one of the four foreign seeds, surely they can't seed the same teamliquid guys twice in a row (without showing any good results in other tournaments)?

I almost will be surprised if Morrow doesn't take this - he has a tendency to step up for big opportunities like this.
That is, if he wants to go to korea...

If there is one guy I feel that could take on the GSL and be successful, it'd be Morrow.

Fighting!

Lalush is one of my favorite zergs and he's been playing very well lately. Can't wait to hear him casting - hopefully in a very biased way. Artosis doesn't seem to be zerg biased anymore and I'm missing it
