Why so much hate? Why wouldn't they be patriotic? It's a swedish site who writes about esports in a simple way. Just like goodgame.ru who write on russian and all the russians is on that site and if their superstar BratOK or Kas is playing you'll se all the russians go crazy in every live thread here, nothing wrong with that. Just like Germans cheer for TLO, Socke and Hasu etc.

How can you even be mad at people for cheering on their countrymen? It's like you're mad just because Belgium sucks in general at esports and sports and you don't have anyone to root for from your country in big tournaments. tt

Maybe you should add to the OP that Naniwa will participate.. it's a little worrysome that he's listed as a commentator

Oh and for the fine folks who keep raging about the stream being in Swedish. Learn to read the op, please.

Rakaka <3 Well done, this is gonna be so sick. Seems like Im the only one who would like Swedish commentators for an exchange. Tired of hearing commentators that just love their own voice and never shut up.

I would give NaNiwa, MorroW, SjoW and ThorZaIN about equal chances. ThorZaIN is lesser known as he has participates in less tournaments than the others (he's doing school full-time until the end of this spring). He has posted similar results in the events he did participate in.

SaSe is definitely the dark horse, he started playing SC2 in late october/early november but has been very active on Bnet since then. He's recently started to win some online cups as well. To me, other players has either shown constant lower skill-level or very inconsistent overall play.

How the hell did I not see this until now? Anyway, I feel the Swedish scene has come a long way (especially after the unfortunate results at Dreamhack) and there are plenty of Swedish players in the absolute top of the scene. Many names on the list above that could do well in GSL. Comparatively well for being foreigners of course. Maybe one day we'll have foreigners on the same level as the serious Korean players and be able to watch "Elitserien" in SC2, hosted by Peter Jihde. Or maybe not.

Actually; the most swedish thing of all is what you do at the moment; to be a hater of all swedish. Thats just in our culture and its called the Jante Law and is the foundation of any socialistic society; you should never think you are anything special, whether on an individual lvl or national. You are always subordinate to the collective and its tabu and immoral to stand out in anyway, and if you do you will be "hated" on until you get back in line again.

The young generation of swedes are not schooled in this way of thinking though, as the old rural provincial sweden have changed into a more modern worldview; and while the old Jante Law still rules the public space and the media, they are far removed from the thinking of normal people. Just like you seem to be, sir.

Sweden is good country to live in, and have many things to be proud of, and there is aboslutley nothing wrong about beeing a bit patriotic or proud when your countrymen accomplishes something great, as long as you dont get arrogant. Im sure ppl from most other countries thinks the same way about theirs. And thats quite OK.

So dont be a hater and a traditionalist. Just embrace the good things in life and be a lover.

Edit: About rakaka; their expressed goal is to encourage and promote swedish e-sports; so I assume that is why they do a swedes-only tournament.

But its plain stupid they wont cast in english, no real reason at all. I hope they change their minds.

You are surprised that a Swedish E-sports site has a special interest for Swedish players? It's very common for people to have a special interest in your country's success, and that goes for everything, not just E-Sports. Being mad about Rakaka highlighting Swedish players is like being mad about local news-papers highlighting local events.

We already have great international sites like TL and Gosugamers, we don't need Rakaka to do the same thing.

Ya, you're right. I just listed people likely to get an invite if they ask for it.
Besides MaDFroG, ZpuX studies in the US and is also more or less inactive (can't understand why GosuGamers choses to sponsor a guy who barely practices). Furthermore, Merz is pretty unlikely as he wont be able to stay in Korea because of studies holding him up in Sweden.
