Yeah I assumed the tournament was gonna take place like next week or something, and that the tickets are set to a specific date. I guess I'm just tired ^^. I wonder if it's a good investment to go to Korea though. I mean you won't live in a team house where everyone more or less is working together, but in a scattered house where everyone is fighting against eachother for different teams. Especially considering all the huge tournaments popping up in the west now as well, it seems like staying might be a better option.

No point because they will probably cast it in "swenglish" and it's gonna sound fucking terrible if you're a native swedish speaker. I guess it's the same for like germans when casters cast in german.

Everyone else is like "Ohh this makes it so much easier to understand."

No fair, Sweden, no fair. Its because everyone got internet there and many hanging in front of their PCs 24/7 and Sweden its not a real sports-country so they keep playing games. and thats why sweden is the second biggest esports-country in europe and not france and the uk. pretty easy. its all about the thing how many gamers 1 country have. http://www.esl.eu/de/#/enc/ranking_wc3/ a strong RTS-Country indeed But i dont blame the US-americans for being a bit behind (the euros) I mean a lot of players over there playing console-games,always buying new games and are too lazy to practice i guess XD its not that they dont have less skill in their blood.

Ok for your information we have easily one of the 4 best hockey teams in the world, we're usually around the quarter finals in the European championships in football, in the 2010 olympics we earned 8 medals and about 25% of the population actively engaged in a sport. We pretty easily have the highest ratio of pro players / capita in the world outside of south korea.. Google is you friend. To quote Abraham Lincoln: "Better remain silent and be thought of stupid, than to speak out and remove all doubt". Peace. Sorry sir but you don't seem to know what you are talking about. Hanging out in front of their PCs 24/7? Not a real sports-country? Not true at all. Also, Sweden is not only good in RTS, but also probably one of the best (if not the best) fps country. Anyone following the biggest fps esport out there (counter strike) will second this. edit: So Ice-Hockey is the only sports in the world ok. Sweden has always done decently in many sports. For instance Ping-pong, soccer, and pretty much all winter sport. Do I sense a tad bit of jealousy or are you just ignorant?

Yeah well 10% of the country plays football actively, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of the best players in the world. Barcelona bought him for 69 million euroes. That's a pretty good player, and basically what keeps the team up. I can start namedropping players playing for various clubs in Europe, but frankly it's not even relevant. Don't bash on a country unless you know what you're talking about. It's considered rude. Edit. Lolz sorry about that. I'm kinda slow today I guess. Sorry for feeding the troll.

What? Sweden is not a real sports-country? A quote from Wikipedia "Sport is considered a national pastime in Sweden, and about half of the population actively takes part in sports activities." Besides sports and computer gaming is not mutually exclusive you know. But yes, Sweden is the one of the most connected countries. 92% of people have access to internet. Which might be the most in the world still. Why Sweden has more and better players in computer games probably has to do with more and better IT infrastructure for much longer than most other countries, spurred on by in part by the government earlier than in other countries. (not just broadband access but also home computers which were subsidized between mid 90ies up until 2005ish)

You havn't mentioned any fact whatsoever, just said that 'herp derp swedes sit infront of their computers 24/7, and can't do physical sports for shit', which is just rude bs. Obvious trolling if I every saw it. Please make your own thread with an actual fact if you wanna bring up the point, instead of trying to ruin this one. I think I can smell some jealousy though ![]()

Or why the USA doesnt rule SC2?Have you ever been at the Gamescom in Cologne Germany? I guess there were more Gamers than ive every seen in my life before.(or the DH as well) and the Brits are too busy with their soccer and consoles. and i talked to some americans as well and now i understand it even more. I just wanted to explain it but some weird proud swedes wanted to defend their country.it was not necessary at all. Its not about a special "Skill-DNS" its more the infrastructure and the amount of interessted PC-Gamers.Thats what you said correctly. But dont take it as a provocation but sweden is not the strongest sports-nation in general but thats another (not that relevant )point but better lets get back to the topic here ![]()
