So talking to my friend today, we pretty much came to the conclusion that we joined TL in its death throes.
We joined on the first wave of beta invites, the quality of each and every post was fantastic. in-depth info and actual discussions instead of people screaming imba about every unit in a brand new game.
I feel sorry for the outstanding long term community members who have kept this site going over the last 8 years.
The only hope i have for TL at the moment is that the new posters who joined in may 2010 with 9000 posts, will eventually get bored and leave.
I can only imagine the workload of the mods on this site, as personally ive been banned 3 times since i joined, and i deserved each and every one of them.
But seriously, if i browse the TL sc2 strategy section and see the title PvZ: 4 gate imba once more ill smash my computer to fucking pieces.
An honest to god well needed feature on this site is changing the home page to 500 search boxers with huge giant words in red saying search for what the hell your going to post about before you open your stupid mouth.
The TL 10 commandments are dead to these people, you all know the people im talking about, you can tell them a mile off, they usually start posts with:
XXXXXXX Posted on XX:XX 29/11/10 Nice post OP +1
XXXXXXX Posted on XX:XX 29/11/10 i agree but i disagree but i also agree
XXXXXXX Posted on XX:XX 29/11/10 Been a TL lurker since 1992 but only reg'd now.
These are the people who need to be contained, the ones with 5k posts in 2 months.
As a final note, id honestly like to apologize for new members of the community such as my self, who must be causing an insane burden on the mods and the people who nurtured this site like a child demanding love.
DLite Out!

Making threads like this doesn't really help TL in any way and actually serves to further what you see as a general decline.

I feel like it should have been in blogs. :3

TL will persevere. People who have a heart for the community will stay, do good posting, contribute. You shouldn't give up this fast man.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. Be the ideal TL poster you want there to be more of. Contribute and make meaningful posts. You're not allowed to bitch until you do something about it.

Pretty sure TL is just as strong as ever and you're just poking a sleeping dragon in the eye. Being a new person to these boards (have lurked for a couple weeks before signing up) I've received some great tips already to bring my zerg play up a few notches.
If you don't get any more enjoyment/insight out of these boards, maybe you're just too good? Who cares about other people's post counts?

im not going to give up on TL man, there is often a diamond in the rough every couple of days, where someone actually puts thought into a post before they hit the sc2 strat section.
im just expressing how sorry i feel for the old-skool members with the influx of newbies such as my self

i get plenty of enjoyment out of reading posts by people who have no desire to learn the game, im only a platinum player, this is the first RTS ive ever played, besides the blizzard box i got when i was 8 with my very first pc.
all im saying is id like to see some improvement....no actual thought, going into the posts of people who lose a game in bronze and instantly jump on TL posting about how they lost due to an imba race

You should have seen the BW strategy section before they started laying down the law there. It'll get better as time goes on and higher level strategy is better understood by your average poster, so in the meantime just try to be a part of the solution and keep your head up, as other people have said.

The site is honestly indistinguishable from how it was before outside of the SC2 strategy section, which I rarely visit. When I do go to that section, I can usually tell from the title if it is going to be a good thread for me or not. If I see a thread that is a duplicate, I search for the thread I remember and post a link to it in the new one. The site is hardly dying - it is home to the best foreigner team (at least if MLG Dallas is any indication), and mods are keeping up because I've been warned three times in the past four months .
I will say I don't think I will ever end up making a SC2 Strategy thread because if there is anything I need I'm sure someone else has been there first. If I want to share a replay I'll probably just make a blog post like last time.

It's a general rule of thumb that if bronze level players aren't asking for tips on how to better their gameplay, they're best to be ignored.
I'm kidding, but of course in a balance game you're going to get "imba" posts, as nobody can have great records against all three races of similar caliber to yourself. No need to be so bent out of shape about "imba" posts, everyone who's been on the forums of an online game has had to read many a QQ post about balance.

yeah, sorry to anyone who was mislead by the thread title, its just expressing my views of the quality of the posts since us newbie sc2'ers came along

In 6 months, you've gotten 4 bans and 1 warning.
You're exactly what's wrong with TL today.
