Australia vs Singapore Showmatch
Southeast Asia Server Showcase
As a minor celebration of my 3000th post on Team Liquid, I thought I'd set up a little showmatch between two of the top nations competing on the Southeast Asia Battle.net server. Australia and Singapore share the top of the SEA ladder as two nations competing for the title of one of the strongest SEA regions. As well as this competitve rivalry our countries traditionally share a friendly relationship, due to British influence and a large number of Singapore ex-pats taking up a life down under. This makes these two insland nations the perfect choice for a friendly showmatch to let the rest of the world know what kind of players our humble server can produce.
The format will be similar to a regular Nation Wars match, except that we are omitting the 2v2 component. This means there will be four 1v1 matches, each best-of-three, and a deciding ACE match if required. The loser will pick the next map.
ProLeague style lineups will be used, with the player not being revealed until the previous match has completed. The ACE map will be a wildcard map chosen on the day out of the Blizzard maps on retail release. Also, players who lose the first map may pick any map from the Blizzard selection and are not restricted to those popularised during beta.
The games will be carried out on the 31st of July one after the other, live in-game and not cast from replays. Sorry to any US-based viewers who would want to check out the stream as this is the best time for the players in this timezone, but just think of it as nothing else will be on at that time so if you're awake you have something to watch

Team Australia
iM`mOOnGLaDe is possibly one of the few household names of Australian SC2, already making a name for himself as a world class Zerg. He has represented Australia at WCG in WC3 on numerous occasions as well as show skill in other RTS such as SC:BW and DoW, and has already got an extensive SC2 résumé.
kjh is primarily known as one of the top SC:BW players in Australia playing in the national team and showing strong results against other top players. His great macro has carried over to his SC2 gameplay and he tends to prefer a big macro game with numerous bases over 1-base or cheesy play.
Legionnaire hardly needs an introduction when discussing his SC1 career, but his SC2 exploits have been a mixed bag due to a lack of application on his part. While he punches above his weight in the local tournaments he has played in, he may be hit-or-miss against quality opposition with his lack of practice.
Azz would be the other well known SC2 player for Australia if there had to be one, constitently showing very strong results against top international opponents as well as in local events.
Team Singapore
Revenant was hailed as one of the future stars of Singaporean WC3, and won the last two WC3 WCGs in Singapore. His form has seemingly carried to SC2 as he came second in the first Singapore SC2 tournament.
nirvAnA is an old school Singaporean StarCraft player, having represented Singapore at WCG in 2000 and 2001, as well as winning the first Singapore SC2 tournament. He has shown consistent results during SC2 beta against quality opposition and you may recognise him under his previous SC2 ID aLt.
iceiceice was one of the best DotA players Singapore has produced, and won several national Singapore DotA WCGs and ESWCs. He was #1 on US ladder during May, and competed in the first Singapore SC2 tournament.
tagan is another strong WC3 player from Singapore, with Revenant claiming that tagan was a better WC3 player than him.
