Last November, a commentator now defected to SC2 made a thread. This thread's prophecy: "Sea will win the SPL." Looking back, he was wrong. MBCGame HERO is no longer a one-man team carried by a desperately struggling Yum Bo Sung. The team as a whole is now a cohesive, powerful force that will soon tear up the competition in playoffs.
The Atmosphere

This season, MBCGame HERO has not only proven to be a devastating force on the proleague stage; they also showed us their genuine spirit and character as they won the hearts of Teamliquid all over again during Hyungjun Becomes a Progamer. While the show was dominated by Hyungjun's cheery personality, it would have been nothing without the support of the welcoming, friendly MBC team.

Admit it. You cried.
Admit it. You cried.
While the heartwarming character of MBCGame HERO has indeed attracted many fans who may otherwise hop on the bandwagon, kindness wins no leagues. Luckily for MBC, they've got the whole package. Let's take a look at this unbeatable lineup.
The Lineup
While it would take too much time for me to extensively go over every one of the players in MBC's brilliant lineup, I will pick just a few highlights out to demonstrate to you the inevitability of MBC's ultimate victory.
"Pusan is the key to winning." When looking at Pusan's recent performance, it's easy to see why Tyson said this. This veteran Protoss stood on the sidelines for most of the early rounds, but MBC showed us in Round 5 that Pusan is still a force to be reckoned with. His merciless slaughter of Bisu led some to question whether Bisu's slump is truly over. These people were mistaken; Pusan is just a damn good player. Meanwhile, his recent dismantlement of Really showed us that he can still hang with one of the best macro TvPers around. Long after his protégé Bisu abandoned MBC, Pusan is still hanging around and stomping the competition.
In an age where most Protoss players shudder in fear at the thought of Zerg, Tyson flourishes against his Zerg opponents. One of the few Protosses to have bested Jaedong himself in a best of 3, Tyson boasts a 62.5% win rate against zergs. When Baby was climbing the ranks and thought to be the next Flash, Tyson was the reality check that knocked him out of the MST. Tyson is indeed an underused weapon, but he will surely get a chance to show his overflowing talent during this Bo7 format. Be afraid.
Currently on a losing streak, Hyun has likely lulled his opponents into a false sense of security. While the fickle gods of ZvZ have made it seem that Hyun is playing poorly, it is foolish to forget Hyun's respectable performance as MBC's 3rd ace player during the earlier half of proleague. This is the man that beat Flash during the peak of his dominance, ending a 19-win TvZ streak. This is the man in whom Coach Ha reasonably put his trust, as he defeated Stork and took home a match against Samsung KHAN for MBC. More recently, he handily defeated Midas, one of the best TvZers around. Before that, he turned around a seemingly insurmountable disadvantage against STX's ace terran player. When Hyun wants a game, he will not let go until the bitter end. Look forward to seeing the faces of ace players, stunned at having been steamrolled by Hyun. The funny part is that people will actually see it as an upset.
Jaehoon is the tragic hero of MBC. While he is always a strong player in practice, he so often falters on the big stage. However, this seemingly "bad" player shows flashes of beautiful play that remind us that a beast lurks under Jaehoon's nervous exterior, surprising everyone when he toppled Shuttle and Kal in the Winners League. His game against Roro showed us that he has practiced strategies that require the most impeccable of mechanics, but his ambitious play led him to lose his lead. While his naysayers (and Jaehoon has a lot of naysayers) will expect him to keep failing, they will all be floored when Jaehoon shows us what he really can do.
Light. This monster is most notable for his recent Winners League performance, executing an unprecedented 3 all-kills, boasting an 11-win streak during that period. Some call Light's play "boring." Perhaps that's true, if you find immaculately executed perfection boring. His macro-heavy TvP is much more intimidating than his record suggests, as we saw in the Ro32 of the MSL. Light's TvZ is nearly unstoppable; his perfect marine-medic control coupled with his experienced sense that tells him exactly when he needs to move his army where causes most Zergs to resort to desperate all-ins in an attempt to defeat Light. His TvT is cold and calculating, setting up the perfect defense to slowly defeat his opponents, who often don't realize how badly they're losing until it's too late. His play may lack excitement, but who needs flair when you're as good as Light?
Sea is undeniably the face of MBC. The entire team centers around him. When he wins, the team is driven into a confident furor that destroys all competition. When he loses, the team goes into a depression that can only be overcome by the victories of the rest of the team. The good news is that Sea never loses. Throw whatever race you want at him, and Sea will conquer it with confidence and style. While some fans simply wish to have a sacrificial lamb thrown to the other teams' aces, seeing Sea in the booth opposite a formidable opponent elicits a relieved, "Thank goodness, they sent Sea!" And the great news is that Sea is performing better than ever: he is in the Ro16 of both individual leagues while still performing consistently in proleague. While most older players are on their way down, Sea is consistently climbing to greater heights. You can expect stadiums to fill with wild cheers as he rakes in the wins this playoff season, and we will all remember why Sea is Team Liquid's favorite progamer.

MBC loves to win, and they make no bones about it. While some progamers maintain a calm, confident exterior after a victory, you can be sure that any member of MBC will be sporting a huge smile and high-fiving his teammates with all his might. Any fan of MBC knows how infectious MBC's joy is, even from the other side of the world, and you can bet that MBC will pull out all the stops to get that sweet, sweet victory. Their determination is unparalleled, their elation will be contagious when they bring home the trophy from the Proleague finals, and fans of other teams will finally realize what being an MBC fan is all about. Why would you bother with any other team?
I understand that this post may be met with some skepticism. You may be thinking, "MBC has no depth!" Or perhaps, "Hyungjun is annoying!" You may even wonder, "Wait, this guy actually argued that Jaehoon might win something?" Well, rest assured that these qualms will be extinguished as MBC rolls through its opponents one by one.
I don't expect a fanfare or any credit when MBC wins. Their victories will be so magnificent that there's no way you would remember some silly topic on the Team Liquid forums. I'm simply warning the Brood War community ahead of time. Now, what to do now that you have this information? I'll give you some ideas:
-Change your favorite team to MBC.
-Buy red, white, and black decorations for your Proleague finals party.
-Watch Hyungjun over again.
-Go to fomos and change your desktop background to a picture of one or more members of MBC.
-Watch the MBC vs. Wemade games rather than SKT vs. CJ.
Usually when I describe my hopes for MBC's victories, I would say that "I believe." However, this time I do not believe. I simply know that MBC will win the Proleague playoffs. On the night of the finals, I will join all of the other MBC fans as I pump my fist and clap at my computer screen sitting in a dark room at 3 AM. It will be joyful. It will be well-deserved. It will be glorious. MBCGame HERO fighting!
Okay, okay, WeMade got lucky. Next season.
