I was having an argument with a friend of mine recently as to bloodbath's status as a map. Since this is a well respected site with lots of above average and good players I was hoping you all might settle this for us. Basically it was over the map bloodbath, and how I think its such a noob map. You cant really have any strategy other than a rush since its so close positions, and the lack of expansions, other than mains..., really takes away from the game. Personally I've never heard of a pro game there or actually any map around the 64x64 size...So any feeback on this would be appreciated. Thx

Oh yeah sure, I mean dont get me wrong, I still think its a good map to have a few games on from time to time but not a very strategic place for those gosu players out there

If there was a way to prevent 4 pools it would be great...Like having a trigger, that put a bunch of minerals in the way untill after it would be fair, then having them dissappear

if it were played in a starleague all players would pick zerg, 6 pools would be standard and game length would be around the 9 minute mark. it would be gay. nuff said

I don't even think it would reach 9 minutes with 6 pool Zergs man. Lucky if it hits a 5-7 minute mark. It'll basically be intense Ling vs Ling micro.

4 pool isn't even too strong on blood bath. there are plenty of strong strategies for every race on bloodbath and it comes down to reactions and micro. 6 pool and 4 pool are not broken on bloodbath for any matchup at all. i can't believe how much bullshit has been posted for this. first of all, if it's zvz, and you know they are going to 6pool or 4pool, you could gain the advantage by 9pooling ...

just scout on 4/5th worker and adapt... rax on 8 followed by depot... basically this map is owned by ran, but its fun anyway.

Well if you guys diddnt think that you have to fucking play like you do on a 128x128 you might go 6-8rax or 5-7 pylon just counter like they do? honestly terran owns the map..

I'd say it's hard to actually predict since pros don't play on the map, and I'm sure one or two of them would come up with an amazing one-game strat or two, and this wouldn't even be a debate. Either that, or I'm wrong.
