the sponsor: personally sponsored me and my LoL team himself. then i was in a bad car accident, i was forced to move back to texas, due to the fact i needed some help during my recovery state.

i do wish sMi the best of luck, but i think the actions that have taken place was out of line, especially targeting ME and ONLY me, when im not the one who did all of this. so what if i have 2 things on my "pending" record, people make mistakes. but i guess they are all perfect.

i personally did not make these promises to these players. this is what the sponsor and myself worked out and agreed on, so this is what i was able to offer to them.

of course maybe i didnt take pics or anything RIGHT away when they asked, im sorry but when i spend 8+ hours a day w/ the team and i choose to go out for a night or something, i think i have the right to do that.

anyways, GL sMi wish you the best.
i know things are not do good for you guys, nor me, but please keep in your heart that it wasnt ME who did this.

Athena,
Let me ask you a question from bro to bro.

Are you sure what you are living is the life of your dreams. Are you sure your activities will lead you into being a happy human being, living the life you were meant to live?

This is YOUR LIFE. It is up to you what you make of it.

Now, if I am honest with you, I am not sure if these activities will lead you down a great path... a path of true happiness.

So let me encourage you to WAKE UP and start living up to your potential.

It is never too late to start.

Start now! Having the vision will be your first step. The rest, is the intention.

Good luck man, and peace.

You did clear up absolutely nothing with your response. You are right, no one should hold you responsible for going out for a night, but that doesn't explain the used crap and cheap-ass equipment in your pictures. That's nowhere near brand new razer stuff. Also, you said your "sponsor" was a razer employee, yet even razer doesn't know that guy at all. And that's only one example from like hundreds.

If you ask me, the team management was very naive and handled the situation kinda poorly. But you were right, everyone makes mistakes and I'm sure the community will forgive the management pretty quickly.
On the other hand, the fact that you come on TL and still cling to one of the most shady stories I've encountered in my whole life is just the icing on the cake. You are really one of the biggest douchebags I've ever seen.

You guys are so quick with your pitchforks, here's one who totally deserves to be poked in the ass multiple times.

He also never asked us to put any money in it (minus nanocloud boosting his account); we weren't losing anything really because at the time sMi had nothing (money, sponsorships, top tier players, etc).

I don't get how he even planned to scam you. I can't decide whether to laugh my ass off at how stupid he has to be to pull this off or sit here in disbelief

also, fair enough on "it's easy to figure this out with all the facts laid out in front of you" bit.

Dear community, I was recruited onto sMi as the captain for the main roster and coach for the players. It was a great opportunity to get better at coaching as well as to meet and learn from the other players on the main roster. Some of them were former teammates/friends and the others soon became friends. We were able to develop strong bonds that will stay past this incident. As it was detailed above, this guy scammed everyone including the players he brought on with the fake contracts as well as the former smi players who were on the team before the new roster was made.

Anderson Barrett was boosted to GM by myself and a few others. We boosted him for money split between 4 people. I paid the 3 others and was waiting for the money. However, Anderson informed he he didn't know how to use paypal, western union, and that his credit cards were blocked. He told me the best way to send me money was via prepaid gift cards.......those also turned out to be a scam. Then he told me the personal sponsor would send me money. This turned out to also be a scam. It became quite apparent that the fake Kelly Dawn was also Anderson.

Everything about this guy was sketchy. We were finally able to uncover the scam after a week on the team. Some of you might ask, why didnt we know from day 1? Well this guy had roots in sMi and friends who vouched for him. He also was great at making up excuses and delaying things, like the long post by DirtyBird explains.

Here is an exert of what I had to deal with.

[7/30/2013 4:33:22 AM] Anderson Barrett: take me to court
[7/30/2013 4:33:26 AM] Milad: You told me you would pay me
[7/30/2013 4:33:33 AM] Anderson Barrett: and i also said whati can do
[7/30/2013 4:33:37 AM] Anderson Barrett: u fucking dumb sand nigger
[7/30/2013 4:33:39 AM] Anderson Barrett: fuck u and GL sand nigger, bye bye :D

Anyways, Its a sad day in esports but this isn't the first time a scam has been pulled and probably wont be the last. This was a good learning lesson for me and the rest of the players. DirtyBirD was nice to not include the other things that were said by Anderson. I'm currently team-less and having conversations with other teams. I will be making an announcement soon on new team.

Sad day in esports ? are u kidding ? Anderson Barrett was boosted to GM by myself and a few others. We boosted him for money split between 4 people. I paid the 3 others and was waiting for the money
And when u guys got scammed, you said it's sad day in esport ?

Rickyvalle21, you are 100% correct in this, Team SCA after having feeling "NanoCloud" isn't who he is we did investigating of our own. We have several replays of Nanocloud playing with 3-4 different hotkey setups and one when he is playing Zerg. We've also talked to people in Milad's CSL team who have told Nanocloud he is a Gold level zerg player. The only time a replay looked like it was actually Nanocloud was when he was playing Zerg in the replay. We believe he is paying several other players to level his account. But we didn't come forth with this. Because people like him really aren't worth our time. He'll just deny it and refuse to play you to prove it to you unless you give him a certain time to get his leveler on. We also compared Neeb's hotkeys with Nano's so we also know it isn't Neeb boosting him. But someone else.

Haha, i remember seeing "nanocloud" stream and it was 100% neeb playing with hotkeys rebound... funny how the kid says he boosts people

Lots of the players asked for proof, but according to the managers we were being "impatient and ungrateful".Well no shit, this is way too good to be true, that's why we wanted some proof. The scammer acted like a complete clueless idiot in chat, and all the players got more suspicious everyday. We were too afraid to ask questions because the management defended him and attacked us when we asked too many questions. In the end we were just too young and inexperienced and apparently have no idea how business works. At least that's what I was told constantly.

Nanocloud, Jimrising, OTP, Jonsnow, Virium, and myself were suspicious from the beginning and worked together to uncover the scam. I’m happy to be out of this mess. Only good thing that came from this experience was becoming friends with the above mentioned players.

"and hope that you don't think too badly of us" This little statement cracked me up, i am not a saint.

I know for a fact that Anonymous/STXsouldbyun is Neeb. Also Nano being gold? LOL. I knew he was getting leveled but never knew hes true league. Thought he was atleast decent.

Sorry, but I'm trying to feel sorry for your team getting scammed, and it isn't happening.

I'm really not sure how your team can be that badly managed that you never bothered to check up the credentials of the two people you were communicating with, and yet continued to proceed to communicate with them as though it were a legitimate business transaction. There were already early warning signs that you, and your entire team seemed all too eager to completely brush aside because you thought you would be safe from scams from personal friends. That is a really silly thing to fall for as a professional, especially in this day and age. In the end, it really feels that you really brought this on yourself, and while I don't feel sorry for you, I hope you learn how to actually do business after this, because if mismanagement like this occurs again, your team is not going to do well, and your team's actions reflects poorly on the community. Good luck in the future.
There is no one like you in the universe.

Identity thief, he can take our identity if he has enough information about us. when we just started all this, he asked me to invite nanocloud into the clan, at the moment I tried but failed to invite him for some weird error. Everybody else that he asked, I invited into the clan without any problem but nanocloud. So i thought my connection was bugged out. He then asked me to log on my account and try to invite nanocloud himself. I complied. and allowed him on my account. After this instance, I came to the realization that there was two different accounts name nanocloud, but only after one of his nanocloud acquired Grandmaster and have a golden shine. At that point I told myself that Nanocloud is definitely working with anderson trying to scam my b.net account to mine my person information from blizzard's website. So I set up a trap, I left my password unchanged and removed my b.net authenicator and waited for my account to get hack, just so that I can confirm Anderson and Nanocloud was in it together, but nothing happened. But i still wasn't sure until Nanocloud did a skype call together with all the players with Quantic.MaSsan. Nanocloud was begging massan to accept them into quantic academy but was denied over and over and Massan told nanocloud to stay in smi and try to scam major into the smi and leave with major as a group so that the players doesn't take any hit in reputation. Now you guys might ask how could this seemingly unrelated instance allowed me to be sure that nanocloud isn't working with Anderson? for one if he was in it with anderson he wouldn't try to leave the team with all these players, two by asking massan this he clearly shown how naive he was and there is no way he could come up with a elaborate scam with Anderson and correlate the timing of switching accounts after I friend add one of his nanocloud account and then log on to the other nanocloud account when i try to invite the first one to clan.

Hello guys, I am a wealthy millionaire with a passion to help grow esports! I am looking to put together a SC2 division. I have already got teams in multiple games such as LoL, World of Tanks, Dota 2, BW, Civ 5, Skyrim, Minecraft, and Chess Online. I am offering a starting salary of $11,000 per month but there are tryouts to get on the team. You must be at least low GM to tryout and tryouts last for 11 months. After the 11 months I plan on putting together a team house for you guys that will most likely be located in the Bahamas (I own several islands in the area so there may be multiple gaming houses if the players want there privacy). I will also be sending out gaming equipment to the players such as the new upcoming Steel series keyboard the 8G gaming keyboard. I have access to such equipment (3 years before the expected release) because I am actually the CEO of Steel series. Please message me for more details if you want to tryout for my new super awesome team!

p.s. the team name is Team Panda Attack Squad

Yeah, Lucky and I found out when we were talking on TS, then we decided to compare his replays and his VOD on streams, there were multiple hotkey setups, so unless he plays on two different hotkeys, it's another person playing on his account.

I don't understand why a deal being made over skype chat is a bad thing. eSports is international and skype is the best method of contact, imo.

And someone willing to invest enough money to keep an eSports team functioning is also willing to spend a maximum of $2K round trip to fly over and have the contracts signed in person. Let's say $10K if he has to fly in the whole team from around the world. To investors and corporations that sponsor these teams, this is chump change and just part of their investment to the team. I work for a start-up, and you should see the expense reports for our sales people.
