Speaking only for ourselves TaeJa received a message that he had to pick his league for season two now already. TaeJa was always supposed to play Code S and then decide near the end of the first season, but this sudden change in policy forced him to pick early. I've been trying to figure out how this could happen because it contradicts the Blizzard Q&A on reddit, and many other sources that said they would be able to switch after season one. TaeJa is not playing NA this season, but I imagine being on this list has got something to do with his choice for season two.

If he won this season of Code S would he still go to NA?

Suddenly Naniwa is a genius!

Korea is still the toughest league.

The real genius here is Goswser, he moved to EU. :D

Well, MC, NesTea, Center, HerO, aLive, Ryung are in the Challenger League and TaeJa and HyuN are in the Premier League, so they won't be able to play in Season 1 right? TheStC, JYP, Thorzain and Revival attempted to qualify as well, so they can't play in EU/NA S1 either I think.

American pros are fucked.

Mvp not playing the GSL is just plain wrong.

From the information available now, it looks like he would have to, as weird as it seems. Although, I personally wouldn't discount a u-turn from WCS/Blizz if it actually happens.

the online part is just bad with the koreans in it, quality of games will suffer so watching it wont be enjoyable. system itself is kinda fluked. people like polt who live in the country should take part in that but not people who fly in for x days, that makes the "regional" stuff ...kinda retarded but i am all in for having more good players in (well koreans) cuz foreigners suck at the game compared to them ~

Guys, Mike Morhaime said this is a good thing. With Polt, Jaedong, and all these other great Koreans playing in North America, the actual North Americans will no longer have to travel to Korea to practice with the best players in the world. This is how we globalize e-sports and make the white people better at Starcraft. Instead of making them travel to Korea to get their ass kicked and get better, Blizzard is bringing the Koreans to their houses to get their ass kicked.

Surprised that more Koreans didn't go to EU. EU is always the easiest region since there are always less Koreans involved there.

Mvp, MMA and MC got together at a bar and the conversation went something like this.

MC " So you guys heard that WCS NA and EU will have the same prize money as GSL? "

MMA " No way dude that's crazy GSL should give more money "

Mvp " Wow, I bet a lot of Korean players are going to play in WCS NA for an easier shot at prize money and WCS points "

MC " What should we do? "

MMA " Move to NA and get rich! "

Mvp " No, you fools! That's what everyone else is going to do. Boys, we're going to Europe. Mind games. "

Oh, just one more thing. Looking at this list, the EU pros must be jumping with joy. I mean, yes these players are pretty good, but they are within the range of top EU pros, especially if they will have high latency.

On the other hand, the weakest players on that NA list are probably on par with the best NA pros, and the top players are most likely out of reach. Latency is also supposedly pretty OK. I guess it wouldn't be surprising if there's like 1-2 NA players in the top16 (at most).

This is very reassuring. So current GSL season might not be throttled after all.

Well, the invites are complete bullshit! I don't know what Blizzard is thinking with that? I really like their last year's system much more!

Is this list actually correct?

Players on international teams going to EU/US:

Acer.MMA
Millenium.ForGG
MVP.finale
SK.MC
Axiom.Alicia
Axiom.CranK
Axiom.Heart
Axiom.Miya
Axiom.Ryung
AZUBU.viOLet
complexity.TheStC
EG.aLive
EG.Jaedong
EG.JYP
EG.Oz
EG.Revival
Liquid.HerO
Liquid.TaeJa
Liquid.Zenio
Quantic.Center
Quantic.HyuN
Root.Sage

Players on Korean teams going to EU/US:

LG-IM.Mvp
LG-IM.TAiLS
MVP.finale

Players who don't fall into either category:

Polt
Violet (is azubu Korean or German?)

It's not really a Korean invasion, it's a Korean player on EU/US team invasion. When we complain about the format mass-trasnfering Korean players, this is partly where the blame lays.

On the bright side, with all these non-KeSPA players moving to the overseas WCS tournaments, there will be more room for KeSPA players to play in GSL lol.

I don't think all 20 of the Koreans moving to NA will get invites. I'm sure most of them will have to qualify through the special qualifiers and/or go through the challenger league before overtaking the North American invites by season two. I'm sure Polt, Violet, Jaedong, Nestea, etc. will get invited, but guys like Center will probably have to just win the qualifier.

8 Koreans are invited to NA Premier division

I'm going to guess Polt, Violet, Hero, Jaedong, Nestea, Ryung, Alicia, and JYP.

I'd say the first five are all but certain. I'm sure Axiom will get at least one invite.

sounds like an alternative of NASL to me. Seriously the league is fucked (if it's not for the format)

So, if I understand correctly, TaeJa play Season 1 on Kr, and, why not, might be the Code S champion. Then he'll go to NA to play code B/contender during Season 2, and then he will be playing in WCS NA first division during Season 3.

Does not make sense to me...
SC2 is the best game to watch and was the best to play before I grew old and slow...

EU could be a very good league if you look at it objectively. The best Foreigners come from there all ready and with only a few Koreans joining it will spice it up and make it competitive

Korean league will be business as usual, they have so many stacked players in it already.

NA looks like mini Korea lol, wonder what Catz is thinking ?

Can someone please explain how this ruins anything?

Keep in mind that a GSL style NA/EU tournament with similar prize money didn't exist before this.
