JD disapointing me big time.

If someone told me that the list of Koreans for WCS NA was instead a season of Code S, I would not second-guess them. The amount of talent now playing outside of Korea is ridiculous and will probably stifle the attempts of any hopeful real NA players.

I don't understand why MC, HyuN and TaeJa choose to move to NA or EU : they are ALREADY on code S (even though MC, lost yesterday and will have to come back).

Does that mean that HyuN or TaeJa will forfeit code S if they won their groups ?

Speaking only for ourselves TaeJa received a message that he had to pick his league for season two now already. TaeJa was always supposed to play Code S and then decide near the end of the first season, but this sudden change in policy forced him to pick early. I've been trying to figure out how this could happen because it contradicts the Blizzard Q&A on reddit, and many other sources that said they would be able to switch after season one. TaeJa is not playing NA this season, but I imagine being on this list has got something to do with his choice for season two.

Surprised that more Koreans didn't go to EU. EU is always the easiest region since there are always less Koreans involved there.

8 Koreans are invited to NA Premier division

And what will YOU do ? Try your chance on Kr to begin with ?

This is definitly going to be a changed ruling on the season 2 of WCS. Otherwise ( im fine with it, but most people aren't ) it will be koreans vs koreans, after the qualifiers.

edit: Not to mention the standard quality of GSL going down without all these players.

Yeah Europe will be fine.

I don't mind kors playing cuz I'm all for watching the best but 8 kors invited to NA division?? Shouldn't they have to play qualis to get in? Oh Blizzard...

I'm thinking Polt isn't liking this as much as he did before . Nevertheless, I believe in him. And I hope MVP dominates europe xD. As a NA player myself, I'm excited to see all these big names come over.

So we could have 16 Koreans in the top 32 for season one.

I'm going to guess Polt, Violet, Hero, Jaedong, Nestea, Ryung, Alicia, and JYP.

I'd say the first five are all but certain. I'm sure Axiom will get at least one invite.

This is maybe a huge blow for proleague and GSTL.
But if you think about the fact that the begining is online and after it is just a weekend for season 1, it's pretty smart move for them. And don't forget they can change of region after this season.

I don't mind, I prefer this to all-NA or EU tournaments, haha. And the WCS finals will be with more Koreans.

Honestly this news is pretty fucking disgusting. Once again the SC2 scene in North America will continue to stagnate rather than develop. So while its great to see your C league (Nestea excluded) StarCraft 2 pros who couldn't cut it in Korea come to play in the American championships, this really needs to be reserved for North and South American players. Blizzard you guys need to fix this system, its already an issue.

But we don't need to see Koreans who can't qualify in Korea come to America to steal something that isn't theirs.

So all that money that didn't exist beforehand naturally belongs to foreigners... can't let the better players have it!!!

I just hope people stop worshiping Blizzard and acting like they're saving esports. They're a business doing w/e it takes to try to maximize that ability. They partnered with MLG. MLG was making money. Do you think MLG was cool with "hey, partner with us but we're going to restrict Koreans from playing in your tournaments"? No, they're not going to rock the boat until someone forces them to. Blizzard expected this. Don't be naive. It's up to people to convince them they can make more money through changes in their format.
