Hi I would like to claim J.R.R. Tolkien, Creator of Middle Earth - As creator of Middle Earth you know pretty much everything that goes on ever. You can make the game play out however you want because guess what - you wrote the whole damn thing.
Also, here is the role list: [lol not posting this you guys cause that would be cheating and Curu would modkill me]
You win when the game is over and everyone enjoys your story.
So now I'm confirmed town cause nobody is gonna counter claim me and this is by no means a fake claim I want everyone to claim to me in PM because I wrote the story you are allowed to do this regardless of what Curu says but only do it if you're mafia so town don't get modkilled and oh look this is a run on sentence but I don't even care I hope you read it really fast in your head because of the lack of punctuation.

And so the quest begins.

The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the Third Age by some, and Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in the Mountains of Mist. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings nor endings in the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.
The wind roared east, carrying with it a refreshing coolness amidst the sweltering heat. On and on it blew, carrying with it lost leaves and stray sticks of straw. High above the city of Tar Valon, the wind caught a solitary figure’s cloak, sending it billowing around the still man.
Curu, Moridin, stood at the peak of Dragonmount, silently observing the world spread out below him. Wise, powerful, and infinitely handsome, Curu surveyed the realm that would soon be his. Standing on the grave of his defeated foe offered Curu a rare feeling of peace, a brief reprieve from the raging voices that screamed in his head. Now that foe was reborn: redFF, Rand al’Thor, the one who had thrice defied him and thrice wounded him. Yet it was a small matter; when the time struck, Curu would bury him with the might of the True Power.
A sudden shimmer at the corner of his eye startled Curu. Turning quickly, he filled himself with the essence of the Great Lord, the Power privileged only to him. Curu reveled in the overwhelming ecstasy that accompanied tapping into the True Power, his senses sharpened to an almost overwhelming level. Black flecks danced across his eyes but Curu had long since learned to ignore them.
The cause of his attention was not something he could ignore however; a simmering portal had opened beside him atop Dragonmount. Even more curiously, figures were moving across this constantly flickering portal. One moment it showed little people with hairy feet, looking thoroughly comical dressed in miniature arms and armour; another moment, tall figures hooded in black dread mounted upon flying beasts sweeping across barren wastelands. Curu looked with awe at the scenes; an odd feeling that he was staring into the very world that gave inspiration and birth to his own overtook him. Fascinated, Curu seated himself upon the mountaintop, resolved to watch the events unfolding before him.
Mig, Mance Rayder, scrambled eagerly over the giant bones littered around his feet. His wildlings had reported that the Horn of Joramun had finally been found within this tomb. With the Horn Mig would gain the leverage necessary to bring his people through the Wall, away from the White Walkers.
Each breath Mig took rose in front of him, thick white mist attesting to the bone-cutting cold as he ventured deeper into the tomb. Finally he reached the end of the tomb; there, upon an ornately carved stone pedestal, lay the massive Horn of legend. Eight feet long with a mouth that Mig could almost climb into, the Horn was a marvel to gaze upon, golden bands and runes sparkling under the light of Mig’s torch.
A sudden shimmer caught Mig’s eye. Prying his eyes off his prize, Mig drew a simple steel dagger as he spun towards the commotion. What he saw made his mouth drop: a window into another world, displaying impossible images from another land. Lithe, handsome warriors with pointed ears and beautifully sculpted armour stood at attention, faces grim. Twisted, misshapen figures, sharp teeth bared in ferocious snarls marched in rank, crudely forged weapons held high.
A sudden feeling that he was viewing his very own origin overtook Mig. Ignoring the cold, Mig settled himself upon the floor, gaze fixated upon the wonder in front of him. He wasn’t quite sure what he was seeing but he knew for sure that it would make for an epic song.

Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. Today we are gathered here to rewrite history, to explore the “what ifs” of the Lord of the Rings canon. How the story progresses and how it ends are completely in your hands; will Sauron prevail over the free people of Middle Earth or will he fail in his quest to spread his dominance? Will Glorfindel once again get his entire role usurped by Arwen? What do Legolas’s elf-eyes see?

I'd like to call attention to
Activity: You must post in this thread five times per day/night cycle and vote every day while you are alive. If you fail to do so, you will be modkilled. To kick things off, Archon_Toilet seems rather untrustworthy, just look at that hideous underscore he chooses to have inside is name.

From the looks of the OP there will be more than one faction in this game. I don't know much about LoTR lore actually. Are there any neutral characters/factions that might make sense in the context of the game?
I know Tom Bombadil was kind of a neutral figure right? He was just concerned about his forest or whatever

i am still reading the daypost. it's size is impressive :D

Old Tom Bombadil is a merry fellow, Bright blue his jacket is, and his boots are yellow. None has ever caught him yet, for Tom, he is the master: His songs are stronger songs, and his feet are faster.

The only neutral figures I can think of (I havnt watched/read LoTR in a long time) are possibly Golom/Smeagal or the Ents.
I feel our best course of action day one has got to be to have whoever is in possession of the One Ring to come out of hiding and give it to me. I'll take good care of it.

Gollum was clearly evil and the Ents were clearly good, although they were pretty lazy. Ask yourself, would an omnipotent Gollum have sided with Gandalf? Would an omnipotent Treebeard have sided with Sauron?
Also, why are we talking about neutral factions when we should clearly be talking about Voldemort and the Ring Wraiths?
