lol no I really doubt he did it for his team he did it because he was in his way to go to the next round of the tournament. This isn't proleague so the same thought process isn't there

@Primadog, nice work you've done there. Could you pm motdog to update that into the OP. Looks like TL is doing quite well in this tourney, if they didnt knock each other out there should be more TL players on the Winner bracket. Also, Sen is out of the tournament...I am sad.

Nazgul is the manager and owner of Team Liquid.
From what I've seen of him from the Liquid Weeklies, he cares about his team above everything else.
If he could sacrifice his place in the tournament for a chance to help his team out in the later stages, I bet you money he'd do it.

I just went and watched the replays where idra lost those 2 fast blink games and he made 2 huge mistakes in game 1 and like 4-5 mistakes in game 3 which cost him the game.
In game 1, he quickly found out his opponent was going mass stalker and knew he was going blink and placed a spine crawler, but he placed it too far away from his base and it was easily sniped, had it been 2 spaces back it would have been in a much better position. Also he should have built a crawler towards the top of his base as well, since he was well ahead of his opponent macro wise. The 2nd mistake was the engagement. He correctly made a lot of lings and roaches, but engaged in the worst possible spot. He basically gave away the lings for free. The correct way to engage is to let him have that position right there and let him jump in towards the base. Once he blinks in attack with the roaches only and then flank with the lings to attack the units blinking behind. If he attacks from the north then just put the left on the left and then engage, if he attacks from the south , idra had correctly placed his lings for that as well. Losing your base in a blink rush is not a big deal if you can manage to hold off the attack, it is a big deal when you 1a your lings to death. Melee units require an open area to engage, and that was not open at all.
In game 3, kulas is kinda an unfair map with that blink trick from the xelnaga in the center, however, he made other mistakes that could have made up for it. He correctly pushed towards the front with his roaches, but he mismicroed a ton of roaches. In that situation idra should have lost 0 roaches. What should happen is you keep pressuring at that front, just getting hits is good enough. What he needs to do is wait him out. If he blinks everything then the roaches will eat up those stalkers so quickly. If he blinks a few at a time, idra can rush in with his lings to the front and kill a few stalkers. In any case he should always leave room for his lings in case of a blink. The other mistakes were really bad including rallying his units to the front instead of bringing them manually and also not countering that xel'naga cavern where the probe and pylon sat. Just 1 ling would be enough to cause him to panic. In the end, kulas has no wide open areas and lings are really terrible on that map especially against blink stalkers. I also think an overlord over the expansion with a spine crawler in the mineral line could have helped, but it was already over when idra mismicroed at the front with his roaches.

Did MLG dallas improved? Hows venue, seating, crowd? And most importantly, are we beating Halo in numbers? :D

Yeah, there were some INCREDIBLE games today.
The matches in Winner's Bracket Round 3 surpassed the previous MLG's Finals in quality, imo.

The SC2 section of MLG is improving at each event. The SC2 at MLG Dallas actually has their own space unlike past MLG events where the area was in the middle of a huge ass room. The venue and crowd looks great judging from pictures and shots on the live stream. I am sure that the audience count is pretty high since the members on SOTG stated many times.

MLG has zombified my speech so that i must say "STICK A FORK IN THOSE BUNZZZ" every 5 minutes or so.

Anyway, this event has been so fun. Even though I got owned its been amazing. Huk in particular has won my heart. Even though I was already a fan, he's been such a nice guy giving me pointers and asking how my games went that I will forever be a fan.

Thank you for that list, the bracket page is terrible.
Looking at the list of players eliminated would create a beastly tournament in itself, and then there are 12 more players who made it even further. This is the most stacked foreigner tournament to date. This weekend fullfilled all my hopes and expectations. Good stuff.
edit: I'm going with Jinro to take it all. His games against Socke impressed me, such solid macro play with some cute ideas thrown in.

Nazzzzzzzzzzzgul fighting! OMG wish he was at DC.
Incontrol fighting too!

Only issue I have: 10 benches. seriously what the fuck. They have 8 at DC seating 1/10 the crowd and so they add 2 benches?? The crowd for the winners bracket 3 today was pretty intense, definitely had the whole middle of the room crammed. IMO we had more than halo, and that's what I'd came to play >_<
