MVP he's a awesome player, but not a bonjwa : there has been three code s winner between his two last code s win ( including today's) plus the blizzard cup. You can't say he's a bonjwa. He's the closest of all player but he'sstill far from it.
It's good to be back

Oh god the quality :<

I know. Quality at GOM is always bad when people are moving!

Isn't the HQ like 520p or something weird?

Really? MVP cheesed and won a game with subpar micro. Squirtle did no better. You honestly can't say it was one of the better games you've seen.

sure if it was a ladder game it would just be an okay game, but as a game 7 of an insane GSL finals comeback after 6 macro games? HOLY DOUBLE BACK FLIP BATMAN

So you're saying because MVP decided to cheese in the last game of a Bo7, that made the game good?

In terms of gameplay it wasn't the greatest. But the story behind it and the intensity of putting it all on the line. It's kinda like how MKP did that SCV-marine rush vs Nestea in GSL2, only this time it was more intense. Even back then when SCV-marine rushes were easier to perform it was already intense. What more now, when proxy 2-raxes are harder to execute.

This is exactly like game 7 of the PL finals, and everyone loved the shit out of that game even though both players made lots of mistakes.

I see no difference, it was great.

I see plenty of football matches, tennis matches, rugby matches, f1 races where the sportsmen are frequently making mistakes. Why should starcraft be any different?

MVP Bonjwa for sure. What else you want him to do? He has 70%+ winrate and multiple trophies.

First Bonjwa of SC2.

Uhh, he is definately not a bonjwa.

It's definitely.

it's an opinion so... yeah

i'm not calling him a bonjwa because, even though he has 4 titles, he's shown that he can still lose to a variety of things/people

that is, more than what i would consider bonjwa

You could also use the fact that this was his first GSL in nearly a year.

In the GSL he certainly seems to be.

too bad he doesnt give much on Team leagues.

But thats probably good, otherwise IM-SK would be unstopable in the upcoming GSTL

It was good because you didn't know who was going to win for a good portion of the game, it only became obvious in the last few seconds.

I was entertained.

So you're saying it was good because the situation made it entertaining for a casual observer, not because it was an actual legitimate display of skill... Honestly, I'm not hating on MVP for what he did. He won, and props to him for that. I'm just saying it wasn't a legitimately good game with respect to a showcase of skill and decision making.

So you're saying it was bad because it was a coinflip?

No, but would there be anything wrong if I said that? I'm saying that it wasn't an actual good game if you looked at the game itself...

I gotta agree with Saracen here. There's not much you can really learn from watching an 11/11. I mean, there was the sweet flank, but everyone knows flanks can be sweet. It was nerve-wracking but not objectively high-quality.

honestly if you didn't enjoy it then you didn't. too bad you wasted a couple of hours to watch something you didn't enjoy.

if you did enjoy it then great. I enjoyed it much. was very tense and i enjoyed almost every minute of it.

whatever floats your boat guys. just chill and take what you want from the game.

It was not the best played game ever but it was one of the most entertaining games ever.

Do you watch BW? If so what did you think of Bisu vs Flash ace match last season. Just curious if this stays consistent.

recently, bisu has only beaten flash on a joke map with reverse ramps, using a snipe build to boot

flash made a big error but it was alright overall.

stats vs that terran guy (cant remember), or flash vs soulkey were better games

Well done, Mvp. Squirtle still a boss. Maybe next time, fellow Protosses x.x

Maybe the content of the game wasn't fantastic (probably isn't). But what went on BEHIND the game was awesome. Takes balls to do that in an ace match. I would even say that Mvp knew Squirtle wouldn't have expected it and knew he would win.

14 months since Protoss last won a GSL Code S.

2 GSL Code S wins for Protoss. With only one player. Under half the number of wins of Zerg, under a third of those of Terran. Hell, half of what MVP has managed by himself.

Terran has as many or more Code S medals in every category as Protoss and Zerg combined. And way more overall.

Last season Zerg beat Protoss in the final. This season Terran beat Protoss in the final.

Terran players: "Whaaa Protoss is OP."

lolk

I'm actually not all that unhappy with the principle of MVP getting a fourth championship because he's a great player. But it seriously bugs me when I see constant Terran whining in light of that kind of record.

Yes. It was all about the lead up and anticipation. The nerves and execution. The fucking jupiter sized balls to cheese in g7 of a series this intense.

I thought everyone saw the cheese coming after dropping 3 macro games. He bet on the fact squirtle would do bad decisions under pressure, which he did going for the 2 raxes. 11 probes + gas + core + warpgate in process against 2 naked rax, 7 SCVs +1 mules. It was won.

It's only 50% about eh game. 50% is mental. And it was an entertaining game in and of itself. Add in all the mental factors at play and you get something amazing!

It takes balls of steel to do what mvp did. Not only that, but the micro displayed was amazing. Squirtle had one stalker in the red for the entire time. In fact, he had that game in the bag. But Mvp did not give up, he microed and flanked the units killing them and then setting up a bunker with only 1 scv and being able to take it. It was sick, amazing micro, and amazing decision making by mvp to somehow get a win. It was not the best game in a serious, but it was still an amazing gaming. And a needed one at that, it was the only 1 base all in the entire series. But to do it in a game 7. WOW!
