Amazing finals! I love Gom! Putting on this amazing show for us! MVP is such an incredibly player and person!

Thanks alot for this! Was so happy to be a part of it!

Now it's time to go before the LR thread turns to shit about balance, good vs bad games and discussion about who is the greatest player / bonjwa term as per usual

I am kinda surprised that Squirtle didn't scout for cheese, knowing he was playing Mvp. Then again, few people will cheese final game.

MVP has been dominating for over a year and a half. It's certainly "close" now,

lol no he hasn't. He's been up and down. That's not bonjwa status.

4 gsls the only wcg and the only MLG he attended he won iirc

he is the closest to bonjwa even if not there yet

No. Bonjwa is a full year of domination. No falling off. No slumps.

I love Mvp, he's my favorite player. But he is no bonjwa.

But this is rubbish, BW bonjwas had plenty of slumps during their reign. People are making the term more sacred than it ever was, with these standards half of the BW bonjwas would never have been labelled as such.

This, just be honest guys. We all know you don't want the term Bonjwa to carry over from BW to SC2.

I don't see why SC2 is so desperate to use the term bonjwa.

I don't see why BW fans are so desperate not to let anyone else use term bonjwa.

I don''t really care if MVP is bonjwa or not but I am sick of people trying to make BW bonjwas looks more dominant than they actually were. It's not even close in reality.

Really? MVP cheesed and won a game with subpar micro. Squirtle did no better. You honestly can't say it was one of the better games you've seen.

sure if it was a ladder game it would just be an okay game, but as a game 7 of an insane GSL finals comeback after 6 macro games? HOLY DOUBLE BACK FLIP BATMAN

So you're saying because MVP decided to cheese in the last game of a Bo7, that made the game good?

It was good because you didn't know who was going to win for a good portion of the game, it only became obvious in the last few seconds.

I was entertained.

So you're saying it was good because the situation made it entertaining for a casual observer, not because it was an actual legitimate display of skill... Honestly, I'm not hating on MVP for what he did. He won, and props to him for that. I'm just saying it wasn't a legitimately good game with respect to a showcase of skill and decision making.

None of these games were..>_>

What? There are always people rooting for either player in a match.

True, but there actually was a lot of people saying Mvp wouldn't make it to the finals. I was sceptical myself.

I can't believe protoss players are still whining when they have 3 players in the semifinals -_-

14 months since Protoss last won a GSL Code S.

2 GSL Code S wins for Protoss. With only one player. Under half the number of wins of Zerg, under a third of those of Terran. Hell, half of what MVP has managed by himself.

Terran has as many or more Code S medals in every category as Protoss and Zerg combined. And way more overall.

Last season Zerg beat Protoss in the final. This season Terran beat Protoss in the final.

Terran players: "Whaaa Protoss is OP."

lolk

I'm actually not all that unhappy with the principle of MVP getting a fourth championship because he's a great player. But it seriously bugs me when I see constant Terran whining in light of that kind of record.

A record speaks about the past and not the present. Look at the statistical racial balance in THIS GSL, rather than the curve over the past 2 years. Balance is present, records are past.

I'm not sure if you're trolling or just.... silly.

I bet half those who declare mvp bonjwa now thought he would lose to Naniwa and "Parting's awesome PvT" not long ago.

But Starcraft is all about context. If there is an amazing game on ladder it doesn't mean nearly as much as a moderately good game in a major tournament. As you pointed out it wasn't an amazing game in terms of skill and decision making. However it was amazingly tense.

As someone else said, it was the similar to the PL finals between Bisu and Flash (except with the races reversed).

So you're saying it was bad because it was a coinflip?

No, but would there be anything wrong if I said that? I'm saying that it wasn't an actual good game if you looked at the game itself...

I gotta agree with Saracen here. There's not much you can really learn from watching an 11/11. I mean, there was the sweet flank, but everyone knows flanks can be sweet. It was nerve-wracking but not objectively high-quality.

Ignoring if the game was good or not, that doesn't hold though. I mean i know how to micro my MMMVG, but still I'm quite impressed with the pro players control as they micro it a lot better than me. Same can be said about 11/11, I might know how to do it, but in this case MVP did it a lot better than I would ever be able to do it.

It's too bad the past 30 threads are nerds argueing over nonsensical shit, when they could spend their time enjoying what was one of the better finals in GSL.
