There's a certain amount of irony in the fact that MVP is winning GSL more frequently than the entire Protoss race is and yet people still QQ about how OP Protoss are.

14 months and counting...you have absolutely no grounds for complaint.

No. Bonjwa is a full year of domination. No falling off. No slumps.

I love Mvp, he's my favorite player. But he is no bonjwa.

But this is rubbish, BW bonjwas had plenty of slumps during their reign. People are making the term more sacred than it ever was, with these standards half of the BW bonjwas would never have been labelled as such.

This, just be honest guys. We all know you don't want the term Bonjwa to carry over from BW to SC2.

I don't see why SC2 is so desperate to use the term bonjwa.

I don't see why BW fans are so desperate not to let anyone else use term bonjwa.

It's because people who watched/followed BW know the true meaning/feeling of the word and don't want that meaning distorted.

Often, people who are pushing for it in SC2 haven't seen how scary players like Savior and oov and Flash were to any opponent on any map at any time. No one in sc2 has really achieved that (personally I think MC was closest, but it wasn't for very long).

Wow, unbelievable that people are calling Mvp a "cheesy terrible player". Did you watch the fucking series? Have you seen him play for the past year and a half? And people also have the nerve to call his play boring? In SC2's history, as far as great games go, there is no player with more games on that list than Mvp. Absolutely absurd.

Really? MVP cheesed and won a game with subpar micro. Squirtle did no better. You honestly can't say it was one of the better games you've seen.

sure if it was a ladder game it would just be an okay game, but as a game 7 of an insane GSL finals comeback after 6 macro games? HOLY DOUBLE BACK FLIP BATMAN

So you're saying because MVP decided to cheese in the last game of a Bo7, that made the game good?

It was good because you didn't know who was going to win for a good portion of the game, it only became obvious in the last few seconds.

I was entertained.

So you're saying it was good because the situation made it entertaining for a casual observer, not because it was an actual legitimate display of skill... Honestly, I'm not hating on MVP for what he did. He won, and props to him for that. I'm just saying it wasn't a legitimately good game with respect to a showcase of skill and decision making.

You seem adamant to not be persuaded away from your view point but I'll throw my opinion in there and see if I can help.
The reason game 7 was good was firstly because of the balls needed to do that. Proxy 2 raxxing in a good position in the GSL Code S finals after you've lost 3 in a row needs balls, I can appreciate that.

Secondly it was because MVP was dead, Squirtle pushed him out of the base and MVP was essentially dead, the only way the only chance he had was relying on a Squirtle mistake and then controlling everything perfectly to pounce on the mistake. The Rax had been pumping while he was retreating and his Marines had been positioned above the rax so they could either retreat or swoop in and capitalise. Squirtle overextended and MVP uses such brilliant decision making in the event Squirtle pokes out that far to swing it back in his favour.

And lastly because as the guy said you don't know was going to win for the majority of the game, initially you thought Squirtle had it easy, then you thought MVP had it easy, then Squirtle stopped it, then he cocked up and MVP had it, then got the bunker up, then he stopped MVPs mining and so on.

You seem to be implying that because this wasn't a 40 minute action packed game filled with decision making it wasn't good in your opinion, that's fine but don't try to say the game was not good when analysised for the qualities and decision making and external factors surrounding it

Honestly, Terran is the best race, and our GSL results prove it. If I were a zerg or protoss player I'd seriously consider switching to Terran. As a Terran player I need not do any considering :D

Meh, not switching. Play random in 4v4s and find T playstyle boring as hell.

Might switch to Zerg though. Infestors are fun.

Why do people assume 11/11 rax is a free win? Squirtle pretty much gave MVP another chance after over extending himself when he killed off the first push.

What a game to wrap the series. One of the most tense SC2 game Ive seen from start to finish (kind of reminded me of the last BW proleague final game between bisu vs flash).

Also another interesting thing was how the series highlighted the major flaws that exist in the TvP matchup, from the early/late game issues to Blizzard having no LAN. Hope they were watching this hahaha

No, but would there be anything wrong if I said that? I'm saying that it wasn't an actual good game if you looked at the game itself...

I gotta agree with Saracen here. There's not much you can really learn from watching an 11/11. I mean, there was the sweet flank, but everyone knows flanks can be sweet. It was nerve-wracking but not objectively high-quality.

Ignoring if the game was good or not, that doesn't hold though. I mean i know how to micro my MMMVG, but still I'm quite impressed with the pro players control as they micro it a lot better than me. Same can be said about 11/11, I might know how to do it, but in this case MVP did it a lot better than I would ever be able to do it.

That's true. Mvp is pretty beast with his 2 rax:

Oh please Mvp was the underdog throughout the entire GSL. He was in a huge slump. A 10 month GSL drought. Even I thought he probably wouldn't make it out of Ro32 he was doing so poor.

Choosing a high-risk strategy and committing to it under the most high-pressure situation possible in the GSL is an example of both.

It wasn't won based on a long-term game plan with tip-top mechanics. Props to you for noticing that. I'm just saying that your opinion of this game not being "legitimately good" makes me think you're one of those people that complains about anything to sound insightful.

Everyone will remember this game. It is going to be enshrined as the finale to an amazing GSL finals.

GSL finals aren't a representation of balance. Protoss is perfectly balanced at this moment. They have weaknesses and strengths and neither is completely broken.

On-topic: I predict a ST vs IM GSTL finals with MVP vs Squirtle game 7. Calling it right now.

I bet half those who declare mvp bonjwa now thought he would lose to Naniwa and "Parting's awesome PvT" not long ago.

THIS. Those or at least part of them who declare MVP a bonjwa are a bunch of bandwagon fans who didn't believe in him the previous rounds before.

This man knows what he is talking about. A SC2 Bonjwa would always work differently then a BW one. I feel like when most of us gain the advantage of hindsight we'll realise this. I doubt we'll ever see someone overtake MVP's record of 4 GSL's (unless maybe MVP himself!).

How can one man be so based and over come all the haters?

He wont pass the Ro32.
He wont pass the Ro16
He cant beat Naniwa.
He cant beat Parting.
He cant beat Squirtle.

Haters did a lot of talking and now they are outlined in chalk.

What? There are always people rooting for either player in a match.

If you didn´t root for MVP you must be a hater!

Controversial point....people like other players

OMG

Oh please Mvp was the underdog throughout the entire GSL. He was in a huge slump. A 10 month GSL drought. Even I thought he probably wouldn't make it out of Ro32 he was doing so poor.

Underdog would be overexaggerating it. Perhaps not in contention, compared to the likes of MKP and aLive
