Yea well, mass shootings have taken a climb. I believe that's what the latest gun control debates all pertain to, keeping guns away from psychopaths and limiting the amount of damage they can do.

While yes its been a bad year, every country has its people who crack. The more people, the more you will have. Murder rate has dropped but coverage of shootings have increased drastically. psychologists have repeated time and time again, the more you hype it up, the more likely it will happen again.

That's right folks, I definitely heard an ethnic twang in that voice, so everyone put your guesses on the screen. It's everyone's favorite game, it's Guess the Minority!!!

So why would you need the gun? The sign gives all the benefits of a gun, and has very few, or none, drawbacks!

This x10000.

The media plays a massive part in the spike in rampage shootings. Like someone said earlier some kid who would just off himself in the basement sees a shooting and the resulting disgusting media circle jerk around it and then carries out a copy cat shooting. There is a sick appeal to being immortalized for a horrific act because it is so easy. If you go on places like /b/ people constantly talk about "breaking cho's high score" and other really disgusting things like that.

There's many news networks that don't report on suicides because it leads to more copy cat suicides. For some reason all human decency evaporates at school shootings and the media has 24/7 coverage, shoving cameras in grieving relatives faces and recently trying to interview fucking kids minutes after the shooting.

The spree killings have lots of small issues in them but the easiest to attack is guns so thats all people talk about until they jump onto the next bandwagon.

There's a LONG way to go before the homicide rate reaches a similar amount to places like the UK, France and Germany...restricting gun ownership would probably not make a huge difference but almost certainly would affect the ability of addled teens and young men to get their hands on assault rifles or uzis and go on rampages...

Well it looks like all this uproar over new gun regulations has resulted in a run on magazines. I can't find any AK magazines other than shitty 75-round drums. Who the fuck wants a god damn heavy drum that you have to wind up hanging from their rifle; moreover it doesn't even fit all AK rifles; what the fuck?

Those drums were like $60-70 before the recent rampage, they were selling for $225 at one point, now down to $125. I wouldn't even take one for free.

Right after the massacre, regular 30-round magazines were normal price of $9-13. Now I can't find ANY magazines, not even 10-round ones.

This is a video of Piers Morgan, a CNN News Journalist which specializes in gun control debates. In the video he talks with Alex Jones who is pro gun and thinks guns are not the reason why people kill each other. Alex is also the person who wants congress to deport Piers from the USA, the reason he gives is that Piers is attacking the fundamental rights of the USA whith his "anti-gun propaganda".

Theres a reason why they exiled peirs morgan to the usa and its the same reason why we want to send him back.

Why do you think the NRA stayed silent for so long? Everyone whos anyone knows that theres always a run on guns when theres a thread of legislation on them. Every time obama got elected and now again after each mass shooting everyone sells out their stocks and makes bank to send to NRA to continue the cycle.

Some news making the rounds:

LOGANVILLE, Ga. (AP) — A Georgia mother who shot an intruder at her home has become a small part of the roaring gun control debate, with some firearms enthusiasts touting her as a textbook example of responsible gun ownership.

Melinda Herman grabbed a handgun and hid in a crawl space with her two children when a man broke in last week and approached the family at their home northeast of Atlanta, police said. Herman called her husband on the phone, and with him reminding her of the lessons she recently learned at a shooting range, Herman opened fire, seriously wounding the burglary suspect.

The National Rifle Association tweeted a link to a news story about the shooting, and support poured in from others online, hailing Herman as a hero. The local sheriff said he was proud of the way she handled the situation.

"This lady decided that she wasn't going to be a victim, and I think everyone else looks at this and hopes they have the courage to do what she done," Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman said Wednesday.

Herman was working from home Friday when she saw a man walk up to the front door. She told police he rang the doorbell twice and then over and over again. He went back to his SUV, got something out and walked back toward the house, a police report said.

Herman took her 9-year-old son and daughter into an upstairs bedroom and locked the door. They went into bathroom and she locked that door, too. She got her handgun from a safe, the report said, and hid with her children. At some point, she called her husband, who kept her on the line and called 911 on another line.

In a 10-minute 911 recording released by the Walton County Sheriff's Office, Donnie Herman calmly explained what was happening to a dispatcher. His part of the conversation with his wife was also recorded.

"Is he in the house, Melinda? Are you sure? How do you know? You can hear him in the house?" Donnie Herman said.
His wife told him the intruder was coming closer.

"He's in the bedroom? Shh, shh, relax. Just remember everything that I showed you, everything that I taught you, all right?" Donnie Herman told his wife, explaining later to the dispatcher that he had recently taken her to a gun range.

I want to believe that coming regulations would lower the chances of crazy guys getting weapons but the I just don't think it will do much. Cho was pretty much the only one I can think of who should have been denied a gun if his state would have kept legit records of mentally ill people for gun dealers. No one uses automatic weapons in these sprees either, they are an expensive and time consuming process to acquire. Banning semi auto rifles with certain features won't do anything either. When the new ban comes it will restrict things like flash supperessor, bayonet lugs, foregrips, and high cap mags. It won't change a thing because they will just get around the law to make new gen rifles with the same functionality.

Pistols are also just as effective and easier to conceal but the laws won't effect them. As for mental heslth, how do we find these people before they get a gun? Many people can't afford to send their troubled kid to get help and just ignore it. Plus most of these guys appear normal until they snap. What are your ideas beyond meaningless feature and hi cap bans?

As for Integra, you should be ashamed for using a video of a crazy man like that. You would have to be stupid to think he is represenstive of gun owners. The guy literally believes lizard men live in the center of the earth. And Morgan is nothing.more than a sensationalist "journalist", he's not a good debater, and he just bounces around from sensational headline to sensationalist headline.

This was a big post for a phone, ignore grammar lol

Edit. Forgot to mention parents need lock up their guns because a lot of school shooters steal mom and dads guns.

Alex Jones is a pretty poor representative of gun-owners. Mostly, his tone is off. If you listen to most of his points, they're reasonable. Piers points to the recent mass shootings as evidence of why guns should be restricted, but he completely ignores the fact that mass shootings are extremely rare.

Alex IS a little crazy, and has a bad habit of ruining a bunch of good points by following up with talking about mind-control drugs in the water, but that doesn't make Piers right. If you've seen Piers interview the head of the NRA, you know Piers can be just as loud and stupid.

I believe that it's better to call 911 instead of your husband. Furthermore, she kept shooting even though he was probably already incapacitated. Lastly: "Authorities believe Slater targeted a home in another local subdivision but left when confronted by the homeowner, Chapman said." Of course, the mother couldn't know how the robber would act, but I can only imagine that this is how most encounters with robbers turn out. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The situation is complicated because she had children with her, but I would honestly rather be robbed and/or assaulted myself than shoot/kill someone else, no matter if they are a robber or not.

It would be very unwise to assume someone breaking into your home and them coming to look for you in the bedrooms where you hide doesn't plan on causing you grievous harm. I don't understand how some people actually try to convince others that they would let someone kill them because they don't want to shoot someone. If you aren't willing to kill a rapist/murderer to protect your children maybe you shouldn't have children.

If you want to be a victim in the spirit of not harming people who perform violent home invasions, that's your choice. I just don't believe that someone can actually rationalize that.

It's also a stupid argument for the NRA to use. The Supreme Court has already said handguns are perfectly legal for home self-defense, which is what the woman used.

Did she need assault rifles and high capacity magazines to defend herself? Nope.

Check out this story:
http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/story/20538156/fpsrussia

Doubt this guy didn't have multiple guns on hand.

Nope.

False, in the case of home invasions you have a massive advantage. Of course being drawn on at close range in the street is a different story, but don't try to make it seem like guns are not effective in self defense because that's bullshit.

I agree, let me explain...
1. You know the home better than this attacker.
2. You can set traps if you catch wind of the imcoming attack.
3. If 2. applies, you can call the cops and request a stakeout.
4. You know what potential weapons are around.

Set traps and request a police stakeout? What sort of insane world do you live in which those are viable responses to house robbery? Practically no one gets wind of their home being targeted before the fact, and you better hope to God a family member doesn't come over late at night with some cake and conversation, only to stumble into one of your "traps".

thats because the people commiting home invasions usually just want stuff to sell and not to kill you, if they wanted u dead they would prolly do it outside ur home, or better yet from a long distance with a big gun where u wont see or hear a thing o.o

edit: hell even a knife would do u in waiting in line for starbucks
