I have one dlc myself, Denmark, so I fear it won't matter.
I read somewhere though that if someone without any dlc start a game, anybody (dlc or not) should be able to load the save and be able to save the game without commiting dlc requirements to it. We could try this as a last resort, else I think I will have to withdraw as well.

Where's the option to select settler difficulty?
I kid, I kid. I think this would take an extremely long time and would only suit the most patient of the patient. I can't see myself playing a game that long, especially if I was one of the later players to play. 50 turns in the beginning of the game is like 1 turn in the late game.

Hi! Saw this thread and thought I might help out, I made a game with random leader, huge continents map, diety difficulty, standard pace, and touched nothing in advanced options.
I haven't played this game since a bit after release, but steam updated it to 1.0.1.275 with 1 DLC (Civ and Scenario Pack - Mongols, Genghis Kh...something something).

Thanks a bunch Danjoh your save works and I have checked that my continuation save does not give any dlc requirements to it, so next in line can use it :D

Basicly Elizabeth in a world of trees and tundra, not the best start one could have hoped for but the deers sort of make it playable. It can't be seen on above screenshot, but we have marble a little to the SW.
Start position didn't offer any mining luxuries so I decided to just tech straight for writing. As a result I didn't have much in terms of money so I was miles away from hurrying the library, but the city got a decent production overall. After building a scout, a monument and a granary our city looks like this

The granary seriously helped our food production on the deers, happy times. During scouting I met Caesar, Hiawatha, Oda and Alexander. I sold open borders to them all, but were still kind of low on cash. The start of turn 41 looks like this:

I hope i am not too late, but i would love to join in on this. I have been playing CIv since the 2nd game so i know my way around. (Although Civ 5 is different from the others, much different) If you guys are still looking for players you can count me in.
FYI: I have all DCL's so shouldnt be any issues

I'm in once I can get a chance  Will admit though that the Roman isn't going to make things easy, I see a Puppet city in our near future should we survive.
For RL reasons I can't play till the weekend/friday evening, so if someone can take the next turn it would speed things up quite a bit.

I set up a civ5 succession game when it first came out. We played a few turns, but aside from accidentally having it be too easy (it was literally less than a week old at the time) there were problems transferring save files between people with and without certain DLC
Has this been fixed?

Hi there! No, it has not been fixed. A good hearted soul simply started a game on his version of Civ 5 w/o any paid DLC and gave it to the rest of us. That's how it's going to have to be until something major changes.
