or because mech was entirely developped around hellbat drops and it got shutdown so ppl fall back to what they trust. + there are so many ways to abuse mech in the early game before bf + hellbat come into play.

It's the map. Biotank is just that good when you can drop in different angles and the 3rd so wide open.
Mech player still uses hellbat just fine.
