Well, there are very few situations where an investigative role is better for mafia than a KP role. Why bother investigating a player if you can just shoot him? Role cop/Capitalist/etc are good roles for mafia though, as they allow them to find other strong roles(not alignments) and are good roles for co-ordinating with Assassin/thief/role swapper etc. The pure detective roles like Parity Cop, NKVD and Bullet Bill are next to useless for mafia. | ||

Also, there is no need for it to be high up on the list, as you might as well actually just grab a role if you are in the top picks. Basically, Copy cat does not directly contribute to town winning. It may, but it doesn't necessarily. On the other hand, investigative + Defensive roles DO directly contribute to town winning, hence them being slotted higher. | ||

(There are like, two, and that is not enough to justify the role) You could find the inventor, or you could kill the inventor, and find out that he is inventor on death. A KP role IS a info role for mafia, because they want everyone else dead in the end, so they don't care about finding out post-mortem. | ||

You might be able to use it for some blackmainling stuff, but again, KP will always be the better solution to a info role for mafia. (And prot is better for mafia then just getting half info, if they think that they can't get another KP role) | ||

The reality is that there are 12 mafia and 16 townies. That is an absurdly ridiculous ratio. If I were mafia I'd take whatever kills as much as possible and just start massacring everything. The only way the town can win is if the mafia shoot each other. If the mafia families suck then the town is screwed. (Actually, the last multiple-mafia-family game I was in ended in a tie thanks to late modkills and my medical prowess.) I really hope the discussion caused mafia members to try to take investigative roles. | ||

Sandroba Jumbo Radfield All three put a lot of effort into organizing town so far. By putting them in public office, We pressure them to keep up there performance. Of the three, I like Sand and Rad the most, Jumbo the least. chaoser or wiggles dont have a platform, so i see no reason to elect them. They could change my mind, if they give me a reason to. | ||
