I lost a close personal friend of mine due to a cancer relapse a couple of years back, and it's so insanely fucking heartbreaking to see. He was supposed to be cured, he came back to school and was on a good road to recovery for about a year, and then all of a sudden he relapsed and was gone like a week after we found out. I got sort of the same feeling now as I got back then. Violet was here posting on TL just weeks ago, showing his awesome and positive personality, and now BOOM! Gone!

So sad.

KT should set up a memorial fund in Violet's name for cancer research. I bet Violet's memory could inspire a lot of giving for a good cause.

I remember when Violet was transitioning from the very bottom of KT's line-up to their ace protoss. It was just as I was getting into Brood War, following the GOM tournament and discovering TL. Violet played EffOrt in one of the opening rounds of GOM 3, and I was really looking forward to the match between the two up and comers. It ended up being a stomp, with EffOrt winning easily, but that didn't stop Violet from becoming even better and stronger, leading KT's protoss line to respectability. This last challenge was simply too much, but his public fight was inspirational. RIP Violet.

My girlfriend was reading naver and broke this news to me this morning. She just said a progamer had died...immediately I knew who it was. This is like the saddest start to a day I've had in a long time.
