This thread is for discussing recent bans. Don't discuss other topics here. Take it to website feedback if you disagree with a ban or want to raise an issue. Keep it civil.NOTE: For those of you who want to find the actual ABL thread where the bans are posted. Please look in here: https://tl.net/forum/closed-threads/ |
The Dota2 TL initiation thread is gathering up a shitstorm...
|
It was nice for the first 50 pages or so, bunch of people like "oh cool." and a very rare insult at some game or another (some insulting dota2, some insulting LoL, some insulting starcraft...)
Now it's... arguing on a forum about whether soandso is a good player
WAT?

Hello.
Isn't it ironic that I find this thread and bookmark it for to see who got banned and the funny reasons why and the discussion among other members... only to find out the very next time I open it that I was the topic in the conversation.
I want to be clarified on this but I don't want to open a thread, so maybe I can post here? I am a Catholic and my thoughts and feelings are heavily influenced by this belief. I understand the strong anti-religion sentiment in TL, I respect that, even if it can go a bit too aggressive sometimes. With my belief, I often enter into conversations informed by what my faith teaches me, and more often than not, I quote from the Bible. I admit I may be doing this too often, and to this I am willing to adjust. But I never go out of line and intentionally derail thread with a religious discussion. I only post when appropriate. What I`m saying is, you can`t have it both ways TL. The very same logic you use to exercise non or anti-religioun should apply to us as well who practice religion. We are here because of our shared interest in Starcraft 2, and the other things that this site offers. Personal perspectives often come in the discussion, after all, TL has a general forum where people talk about anything under the sun.
I have no problem being asked to tone down on my belief in the discussion, after all, every community has a different level tolerance and a different atmosphere. What I would like to ask is that let us not be negative and condescending towards someone merely on the reason of their religious belief. As long as we agree to a civilized discussion on the matter.
Thank you very much.

User was temp banned for this post. It's funny that I'm about to defend this post because I almost reported it myself, but the reason I didn't is because it is CTR's definition of love in a thread that is discussing the definition of love. However he only has 35 posts and I think 90% of them are scripture. If that's the case he should permed/30 day-ed. Edit: v Thanks. Yeah, he deserved the ban. Thank God then you're not a moderator.

We are not having the religion discussion in this thread. If you have an issue with how religion/religious posts is/are moderated you should post it in website feedback or PM whoever banned you. This is not the place for that kind of discussion.
This is addressed to *all* of you. This thread is not going down that road.

This thread is for laughing and commenting on bans, not for requesting other posters be banned, arguing about how moderation should take place, contesting warnings or bans or discussing tl policies. Website feedback fits that particular niche ^_^

1st, blind never posts here much, and that was a semi-deliberate ban for my 2222 post, which if you follow this thread you know I am indeed banned more often than not. Reason: Your moderation history explicitly includes an instruction for you to not make shitty posts in topics just because you think they've gone off topic or need closing. he stays banned more often than not. can we start treating him like a trash poster...:/ On August 31 2012 14:15 iamperfection wrote:On August 31 2012 14:01 Christ the Redeemer wrote:Hello. This guy is moderately annoying, but honestly I wonder how many people get the reference in his name(hint: it's a big stone thing) wait, why is that even banworthy? It seems pretty on-topic to me... Thanks for the kind understanding. This guy is moderately annoying, but honestly I wonder how many people get the reference in his name(hint: it's a big stone thing) It's the statue of Jesus Christ in Rio De Janeiro. Also, it seems any accounts made that have direct religious references in them are doomed. Atheist, JesusOurSavior, This guy, and surely some other people too. Oh dear Lord I should change my password immediately then. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Galatians 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.
Go and enjoy love, brother.
Thank God then you're not a moderator. i just have one question. Why do you come to teamliquid to post? it seems you just come here to talk about religon in almost every discussion you have. You dont seem to have that much of an intrest in starcraft or any game for that matter. Why do you say this? I come here all the time to watch streams mostly. I can tell you the result of every major event in the last 6 months from the top of my mind, mainly because of TL. This is addressed to *all* of you. This thread is not going down that road. It was a question about my ban. But point taken. 1st, blind never posts here much, and that was a semi-deliberate ban for my 2222 post, which if you follow this thread you know I am indeed banned more often than not. I will not take such an insult to my dedication to the bangods, a dedication that Blind has no respect for due to his lack of posting here. Last, read GM's post. I stopped posting here because of the cult of the ban and the rules have become much strict Show nested quote +Rinny was just temp banned for 90 days by intrigue.
