Used to watch the PlayhemTV stream every night during the week. Sometimes left it in the background and just played something or browsed. Tried doing that again, but it's not fun anymore. Not going to watch the stream from now on and just look for the other streams listed under the 'NA Playhem Daily' calendar.
Really nice move by the Playhem management to offer such compensation to 'Dragon'. Too much in my opinion (the public apology should've been enough), but it's their choice in the end.
Really bad move to simply let the caster go, especially since it was done mostly due to the pressure received from the loud-minority.
All the best to Katu!
PS: So many people that seem to have registered only recently, especially for expressing their opinion on this matter. So nice of them to do this.

Guys just watch tonights Inside the Game episode, listen to the answers to Goatlust´s question and then think what just happened to Katu after one single screw-up (which wasnt even that big as Incontrol pointed out).
|
normally about this kind of thing i tend to feel quite strongly 1 way or the other, but about this one im just struggling to feel that this is a big deal. it comes across that people think the caster in question is a bit of a dick in general, but that seems like an internal problem for playhem almost unrelated from 1 specific incident. maybe its just because it was for a daily cup rather than something less frequent but i would imagine that most people will wake up tomorrow (including dragon) and just look forward to the next daily if they are the kind of people who watch it.

First Katu needs to sponsor dragon for IPL4 and not playhem
I heard face to face works great at Las Vegas for apologizing to Dragons
Edit: if katu doesnt do this Dragons will not be playing anymore Playhem tourneys at all.

This have been blown out of proportion. Playhem is doing the wrong thing by firing Katu. He was one of the best casters.
The vocal minority is just creating drama where shouldnt be.
I think is ridiculous, offering dragoon IPL4 is totally unnecessary and just show how weak Playhem is under pressure.
HIRE KATU BACK... the sc2 community gains much more with Katu that without him

Reddit witch-hunt just got someone fired, fantastic.
This is a complete joke and I really am disappointed in Playhem after this, I wasn't even aware of Katu and I still think being fired is completely over the top. Most of the drama was caused by the hivemind over at Reddit. It has been shown repeatedly that Reddit does not give a fuck about anyone, as long as it gets drama it can circle jerk over for a few days.

This whole situation was stupid and an overreaction by Dragon fans, and to see people being so happy to get someone fired like they accomplished something good makes me sad.
I hope Dragon stays true to his promise and declines the invitation, and Katu continues to cast and is successful at it, he was a pretty good caster and was very dedicated to it.

I glad the evil witch Katu was burned at the stake this glorious evening. May we never utter his name again except in contempt for what he had done.

Congratulations for not reading the thread. Try to get more information before overreacting like you do now.

Pretty stupid move by Katu but I think Playhem went way overboard with the PR part of this. Obviously Katu needed a break but still pretty sad. My favorite playhem caster.

A bit extreme, just a slight screw up simply does not warrant such an extreme response - he's a decent caster and losing him in esports would simply be losing talent.
Poor Katu, best of luck to him.

He stream-cheated, check liquipedia brah, but I agree he doesnt come close as that trash called Combatex.

ipl 4 is going to be awesome with gstl finals and now dragon... this is great !

He messed up big time, yes. But after hundreds of dedicated hours of casting for playhem, I think people are being way too harsh on him. Everyone makes big mistakes. Wouldn't you want forgiveness to do something you love?
I don't watch much playhem but, being a commentator requires a lot of hard work (especially for little or no money). I feel so bad for the guy. I hope he can take this as a step forward.

Im not sure what to think abaut this community anymore. 90% of the interest of people goes into these witch-hunts. Its either a player doing something stupid that the community wants to sacrifice or its a representative. This time a caster.
Arent we here primarily to watch starcraftgames and enjoy the content that alot of people put in. I listened to the cast; tap on the wrist and move on? This community is starting to scare me seriously.
edit:typo

It got me checking to see if Dragon cheated in the past, which is something I did not know and it should have been kept that way. That is what apologizing is for. Forgive and forget. Not forgive but keep reminding everyone.
