Why the hell do people care so much about what people say on their OWN PERSONAL STREAM. Yes, Destiny is well known in the Starcraft community but most people understand that he is not some spokesperson or role model for sc2 so if he chooses to cuss on his stream and he loses a couple of viewers that are offended WHO CARES. Incontrol made it sound like all Destiny does on his stream is cuss at people and call them niggers but in reality whenever I watch Destiny I have never heard him say the word nigger. If you don't like his stream don't listen ezpz.

The only people destiny is responsible to is justin.tv as long as he's streaming there. And they clearly dont care as long as he gets viewers

Going back to the stand-up comedy analogy on SotG, I think what a lot of people are missing in this whole debate is that while there are a lot of fans that want to view streams (or shows) with correct - or 'acceptable' - language, there is also a huge market for incorrectness and "colorful" language. I personally believe that Destiny is doing more good for SC than bad (and language in general, but that's another discussion). Think about it, who are the most popular stand-up comedians you can think of? I'm willing to bet that almost anyone will agree that Richard Pryor, George Carlin and Eddie Murphy are very high on that list. And I do believe no one's accusing them of doing harm to the stand-up community? Of course not, the incorrectness in their speech is a huge part of their stage persona.

As for the Michael Jordan reference on the last page, I don't see the point. The argument was that this kind of language hurts the community and the popularity of SC. If Michael Jordan turned out to be like in the example, would that hurt the basketball community? I'd say it would just hurt Jordan.

You mean comedians who joke about race, or comedians who are racist? Because there is a huge difference. For comedians who joke about race (other than their own) how about Trey Parker and Matt Stone? I'd say South Park has found its target audience. But no one in their right mind would think those two are racist. Comedians who are racist? I'm not sure that's possible, comedy requires brains, whereas racism requires a lack thereof. I certainly hope there is no market for real racism.

My point being that the effect of a 'racial slur' depends on the context. As well as the effect of any other word that is generally considered offensive. Does anyone actually think Destiny is a racist, homophobe or chauvinist or something of the sort because of the things he says? Because it's pretty damn obvious to me he isn't.
