He said many times he doesnt like FFE vs zerg because of the passivity of the build. Nothing new here, NonY was known in BW for the exact same thing.

I don't understand that at all. He still plays passive with mass sentries, he just gets his natural up way later. Even when he does try to pressure with zealot/sentry, he ends up losing all of the sentries, which puts him even further behind.

The viewpoint is, that going FE you give yourself an economic boost, but you give an even bigger economic boost to zerg, since he can just drone up uncontested and unmolested for a time since he absolutely knows you cant do anything about it. Expert zergs (ret) even dont stop droning when you go voidray-phoenix harass, this is why protoss wins of a FE nowadays mostly just come from 2 base allin. Alternatively, if you go gate expand, even if it is a sligthly less economical build, the economic price is worth it since you are able to limit and control zerg droning from the very start. While mistakes can happen (losing sentrys etc) in games, it does not mean that the overall approach is bad, in fact it seems to me that Nony is correct in his approach, and that FE against top zergs in the future will be practically limited to 2base allin, since when you FE the zerg gets so droned up that the only other option is that you do a lot of damage with some sort of harrass(stargate or warpgate), things which zergs are getting better and better at defending.
