TSL vod, Bad Cuts ?

With the cuts in the second of the gg, not even be able to listen what the casters said about the game, the vods become alot useless for many ...
its not the time of the former TSL when it was the only content, there are so many other vods and 98% of them dont cut that fast so you get something of the "feeling" now its just watching replay with sound and stop instant after gg ...

making the cut like a few minutes later after the game would be awesome to ... dont know feel more with this tsl

Yes the cuts after the gg is called is annoying because I really want to hear the post game analysis.

Totally agree, I always interested what the casters have to say about the game, sadly this is a trend i see in many vods. Fix this to make TSL4 better

They should at least have the casters finish their final sentence. It just sounds weird when they say, "gg, what a great victory by" and then it ends. It doesn't need to drone on but at least have a smooth ending at the completion of a sentence.

For me it doesn't matter , but it is easier for someone who doesn't want to hear the post game analysis to close the video, you can't do the inverse.

This is minor, but related. The post-game analysis also helps clouds the length of the game if you happen to see the length of the video. Of course I really like the post-game analysis, and think it should be included.

Another agreement on this; the casters really help (often, anyway..) to describe the final moments of the game, talk about the strategy used that won the game, or put the match into perspective in relation to the other ones, as in these best of 5's... They can even talk about the previous rounds and give you a sense of the great run a player is having (or not!)

That's the way it was in the TSL3, just looking at one example is the first game of Mondragon vs Cruncher round 16.


So yes, if at all possible, dear TL gurus, please leave in the caster's closing comments until the next commercial? Or something?

I agree.

I also liked how interviews were done before games, not after, in TSL3. I want to hear their thoughts about their coming opponent (mainly because of the potential trash talk )

Not a big deal for me, but I wouldn't mind a few minutes of post-game analysis.

Imagine if idra had qualify though! Would be some very confusing moments where the VOD would cut in the middle of a game for no apparent reason.

I'd love to have the whole live experience recorded. From the first second of the stream to the last! Due to my job I can rarely see a tournament live and cutting that hard destroys the atmosphere for me. Please let them at least finish their sentences. Maybe put the pre/post game talk in seperate vods if you want the games to stay compact.

I think that either exporting from twitch or using local recording would be the best solution, but since it seems there are technical limitations (as there always are), it might be worth the extra time and effort to do some post production on the vodz to include the bits at the beginning and end without spoilers (put up an overlay or something).

i totally agree with the OP, it's really jarring and i miss the analysis, plus i hate accidentally moving the mouse and seeing how close it is till the end of the match. :/

TSL3 was perfect. It was a total blast to watch via VODs. Without hearing any pre or post game analysis, the TSL4 VODs just aren't as entertaining. There are a lot of players in the TSL4 which I don’t know anything about which makes it hard to care who wins.

The pre and post game analysis are key for me in valuing a game. Without that it feels rushed and isn't meaningful and feels like it doesn't have that 'epic proportions' feeling that a TSL quality game should have, and somehow it just takes the fun out of it, and that part I can't really put into words, but it's just more....boring. Now I'm finding I have to tune in LIVE just to get the good feel, and frankly my schedule doesn't always allow that. So now I feel left out of the loop of excitement.

I agree with OP.
Seems weird to me to it cut it instantly like that. I read on youtube comments that it is to make us watch live, which I think is kind of silly, even if it were true(I don´t trust random people on youtube).

Please upload whole.

Working on the sync issue, this seems to be caused by youtube as the videos before we upload them play back perfectly synced in multiple video players. I've made some test videos with additional sync correction - which one seems to be the most in sync for everyone? Watch for the explosion from the first reaper shot.

Two is terribad (near a second between animation and sound) but the other two are much better. Four might be a bit better than three, but it's not by much from what I can tell.

I'd like some postgame as well. I don't know if everyone has the patience for the deep analysis that we had in TSL2, but some of it is nice. I think the best way would probably be to have the player intro video, then start VODs at the start of the match and give the postgame after.

To clarify, it can be subobtimal to have a pregame if you just want to catch the gameplay, so it should start with the start of the game. The player introductions/matchup introduction is pretty important though. A lot of the important stuff in a sport isn't the events in the game. Background; what the players are expected to do, what they have done, why the match is important or epic; this is key.

It's key for newbies, and as someone who hasn't been following the scene for a while, I'd like some of that accessibility. This is a super minor complaint though. Production has been something special and it's pretty much everything that we've come to hope for and expect from the TSL dynasty.

Post game analysis is a must for VOD games and all tournaments. Every other sport cast does this. TSL should as well.

I agree with the other posts above about this. Audio is certainly the most important, and while screens would definitely be nice, they aren't necessary.

So I think the consensus *so far* is: Audio definitely, screens hopefully.

I just want to add that for the few of us who are constantly having stream lag issues, to include more of the talk around games would make vods a more viable alternative to watching live.
