Heyo TL,

I Q:ed (P)(pl)MaNa and (Z)(nl)Ret prior to the third round of TSL.

Interview with MaNa
+ Show Spoiler +
How do you feel about the upcoming match against CaStrO? You've recently been seen losing to quite a lot of Zerg players recently? Is that something you've been having trouble with in the past?

- Right now I feel confident I can say. Yes I've been losing to zergs, had some bad streak and I had also some big problems with PvsZ, now I practiced some and I know what I did wrong in those games. I hope that it will not happen again.

Care to tell us what those wrongs were?

- I did not make my third expansion fast enough, I just camped in my natural macroing. Now I know that if I wont make my third expansion fast enough I will already have lost the game if I lose my first attack.

And how is the transitioning to ZvZ going? Do you rate yourself as good in it as in TvZ?

- Well it's a different matchup. In TvZ, if you are the best player, you will rarely lose a game. In ZvZ you can be the best, and still drop games occasionally, that's why people call it a coin-flip. But I feel my ZvZ is in tune with my other matchups in terms of skill. My TvZ was probably better though back when I played it a lot.

There have been a lot of rumours and talk going on about your current stay in Korea. Could you go through and tell the readers how your situation is right now?

- I'm going home on the 28th, and playing one last courage tournament on the 24th. Regardless of the result, I will be heading home 4 days later. All in all I've only been in the estro house for about 3 weeks, it's a shame the way things turned out. And being out here certainly hasn't been good on my wallet.

rets interview is so good, i totally understand him and why he left. I would have done the same thing, koreans not respecting him that's just so bad. He got my full support on this.

why people keep think they korean should care about him? he wanted to come to their house and he should obey their rules... if u invite someone to ur home or ur country u also expect that he will obey ur rules ...

While I don't agree with Ret's choice of words that he traveled across the globe for them, I don't think it's fair to just say put up or shut up. Rules are one thing but as one person to another if a stranger comes to your house the courtesy of trying to talk to each other can make a huge difference. I think what most people expect is not that these players spend their hours practicing with him (which would have been nice too) but that they just tried to be nice to a foreigner who must be feeling very alone at times.

When I was in Korea I didn't practice with Jinnam/Jinsu much, on the other hand Gundam did practice a lot with me, but whenever I talked to any of them they were super-nice regardless. It's not that hard to be nice.

How is Ret going to chat about games with Koreans if he can't even speak Korean >,<

It's not the Estro Koreans fault that they only know their native language.
________

It's like me going to a PC bang and asking some random Korean for strats. He'll probably look at me and be like WTF. Lol I have been given tips by one Korean Terran player a while back. My GF's brother also plays Starcraft like a religion. I keep telling her to get him to teach me. LOL

imo now its different time than it was back then ... when u were there is was more amateur in my eyes now its more about sacrice and more professional... because in korea there are too many gosus at ur time u were gosu even in korean term.. but now ret is one of many

The gap between amateurs and professionals becoming larger shouldn't influence approaching a person that is very alone in a foreign country in my eyes. Being more professional should not imply you don't try to talk to people that are living in the same house as you.

I can understand if you refuse to play against someone who is below your level but even so if you are a team and as a coach see the potential in a player you can make it happen. If you don't see the potential in a player; safe everyone a lot of effort and don't get him to join the team.

Sad to hear that ret is leaving, but oh well, looking back at rekruls post it makes sense. My respect for idra only keeps growing because of this, the amount of shit he's been bombarded with just makes his tenacy admirible.

Sad to hear about ret. He seems very frustrated with his situation there. I really kept my fingers crossed for him but too bad it didn't work out. I guess thge environment is just too hostile for a foreigner to stay there long, in general.

Hopefully he will win both the courage and TSL.

And go MaNA. I want to see a couple of Protoss players in Ro16!
