Hot_Bid i'm not saying your decision was wrong. It was obviously right, im just saying what he told me.
For whatever reason people feel like they need to bash on naugrim i'd just like to clarify that he showed up and was going to play, but then he couldn't due to circumstances. He lives at home and respects his parents will, theres nothing more to it. He would have played if he could.

If I still lived with my parents and said that I'm potentially playing a starcraft game for a chance at a couple thousand dollars they'd let me skip dinner for an hour no problems. I'd expect most sane parents to do the same....

Because 121 people voted for Naugrim. Obviously it wouldn't be fair to these people who voted for him under the assumption that he would be playing.

What about people who voted for kolll under the assumption naugrim wouldn't play huh!?

That's not fair, he's a great player and deserves your respect. Why would you not respect somebody because they couldn't make their own game? you don't know what his reasons were so it's unfair to judge.

So from what I read, Naugrim gets sick of Broodwar and stops playing in the TSL 3 weeks before deadline. He makes it in due to DQ's. I think any respecting Starcraft player would maybe transfer then clear stats to let other players, who care aboust Starcraft, get a chance to qualify. Seems like he didn't care about qualifying but got in luckily then decided to play. Then, eating was more important.
Damn, I think LZ would play over post-postponing meal 30 minutes. But that's just me.

When he came back, kolll and oct was already 10 seconds into the first game. All times CET (I recorded to the minute): Official match time 18:00, confirmed by 3 emails and through MSN17:30 - Kolll and OctZerg arrive in channel 18:00 - No sign of Naugrim, we call his phone number provided by him. No contact from him either. 18:20 - Kolll up 1-0 per TSL rules. 18:21 - Naugrim arrives in channel, tells us he needs to eat. 18:21 - I try to respond, but he did not give me a chance to say yes or no, he's already AFK. 18:40 - Kolll should get 2-0 W.O at this point, per TSL rules. But we still wait (gave extra 7 min). 18:48 - Naugrim stil AFK. We decide to award W.O to Kolll. 18:48 - Kolll and OctZerg begin their R2 match. 18:49 - Naugrim returns, says he shouldn't be DQ'd because he told Kolll he would eat for 15 min.* * Why 2-0 W.O? 1. He never officially told me, the admin. Telling Kolll is not telling the TSL Staff. 2. Even if he did tell me, he didn't give me a chance to say yes or no, he just went AFK. 3. Even if I accepted, he came back after 27 minutes, not 15. 4. We had no idea when he'd be back or if he'd even be back. 5. At 18:48 when W.O was decided, we were 50 minutes past scheduled time.
Good decision. I'm sorry Naugrim could not be agreeable. I was looking forward to that match.

This is why in Korea they take the teenyboppers away from the parents and lock them all up in a house.

I'm looking forward to seeing Kolll play a ZvT again. I don't know if he is overhyped or not, but beating IdrA 2-0 is definitely something, even if IdrA claimed that he wasn't playing his best.

to bad he has caring parents who wants a family dinner with him... Yeah screw him and on with the next game, its only naugrim.
|
TSL is a $20,000 tournament, if he can't commit time to play he shouldn't play it.

GJ kolll.
GL against morrow!
|
LZ was #49 right? If Naugrim wasn't too serious, he should have given LZ the chance !!

Awesome Koll! Beat Morrow and advance! Hope you get to finals
