i know that TL is not very fond of short OPs but there really isnt much content to add to this simple and basic question.
iCCup just released new chaos plugins (coded by python_max) making 3-minute-delay scbw live streaming (replayish within scbw engine) available. (check out www.iccup.com if you havent read about it yet)
its very similar to GarenaTV / WaaaghTV (spelling?) for WC3/DotA just that its for our most beloved game instead
so here comes the question: albeit it still being a bit buggy, will teamliquid TSL2 broadcast of TSL2 games use these new plugins as an additional way to broadcast the games to vods/video-streams, yes or no?
thanks for any responses in advance
gl hf =)

im pretty sure even if tl wanted this, pokerstrategy.com wouldnt, because I guess you cant implement custom banners/ads in a live replay cast.
|
Still iccup stream tv is really in beta stage i got tons of problems using it so i guess no.

No we will be doing a pure video broadcast.

thx for the answer Kennigit, the fast response is much appreciated

The idea behind the ICCup thing is awesome, but it's still a few months of intensive use away from being a final product you could lean on in something as massive as TSL2.

will the video broadcast be delayed or realtime?

of course....

why not ? it doesn't have any bugs we are aware of. It may have any delay you want (e.g. 3 hours). it doesn't affect the game flow at all and for sure can be used as a backup source of stream. besides, as far as i know not every game will be streamed by video broadcast. am i mistaken?

Sorry for my apparant ignorance but video broadcast means somehing like livestream with observers in game? Or Commentated replays? Im also wandering if the games with commentary will be available when not live on an "on demand" the like of which livestream has available?
Thanks

That doesn't mean the users arent allowed to do it on their own. If they would like they can stream their games... Nothing in the rules about that.

I have a pretty good feeling that players streaming their FPView of their own games is going to be disallowed. Just a hunch, or something like that.

The precise rules and restrictions for the qualifier games aren't released, and if we want to make a rule regarding this we certainly can.

If it impacts the quality of the real stream in any way (or if the sponsors dont like it) obviously not, but I don't see the harm in trying it out if its bug free. I don't really expect it to actually happen or anything, just saying it'd be cool.

I didn't mean actually unofficial, I meant still TL controlled but not fully endorsed. I'm wording this poorly but I know what I mean and I THINK I've put across what I mean and i'm too tired to try harder

Just want to add that you can show sponsers/logos by modding the sc:bw tilesets on computer that is converting the replay stream into video. Having first person view of both players in addition to the observer view with commentary (3 streams) is amazingly awesome.

i want idra games streamed in ro48!!! idra vs nony will deff be streamed right?>

Join the club hommie. As far as I know there is no schedule yet. The only concrete information I have is the matches are set to begin on 1/9.
I'm sure all we be announced in due time.

Times will be announced, but they are not public yet.
Play times have just been announced.

Qualifiers R1 / R2 will not be broadcast with casters / streams.
All results and replays will be released immediately after each series is finished.
There will be an upcoming commentary contest with prizes for all games that are not broadcasted. The announcement for that will come soon.

Streaming video is known to everyone and reliable way to show games, while ICCup Stream is a new thing. If TL guys would like to mess about with it and something went wrong it could possibly leave viewers dissapointed, which could be very bad for the publicity, and it's not something I can see being possibly considered at such a short notice. Maybe when it becomes more widespread for the TSL3, could be awesome .

The iccup page even says its buggy, so I dont know where "unk." gets his info.
