Well it's pretty big news and you can't exactly have a closed thread linked in community news. A new thread would just turn out the same way, so you pretty much just have to keep banning people I guess.
Honestly though the really crappy Lol/caster bashing comments are a minority in that thread. The vast majority of the comments are actually pretty civil and respectful.
