My initial thought would be that a mod changed it-- the banned poster, being banned, can't edit his posts, though it's possible he did so before being banned.

The guy edited it out of his post before moderation occurred, but was still banned for it. Mods never alter the content of a post when issuing a warning or ban (barring NSFW material, advertising, and other potentially harmful or disruptive stuff). There has also been precedent for moderators handing out warnings or bans for offensive language that was removed by the poster prior to mod investigation. Given both of those facts, the likely result was just the guy being banned for using the word "faggot".
Moral of the story: Just don't say stuff like that in the first place. Editing it out will not save you from the Hammer.

Yeah, always keep in mind that Mods can see what you edit out, so no use trying to be clever and edit out your inappropriate material.

If you think about it, all the data for your post WAS stored on TL.net, then you added some more stuff by editing. There's no reason a changelog or diff wouldn't be saved.

spajn was just temp banned for 2 weeks by Chill.
That account was created on 2011-08-22 03:25:39 and had 21 posts.
Reason: Don't open a thread to blast your subjective opinion in a condescending manner. Yes, it's easy to say what you would do if you had talent, but having the drive of Idra or Huk to play 10 hours a day is a talent in iteself. Also, please don't mention Combat-Ex again on teamliquid.
fucking atrocious, should be perm.

Is there... is there a way I could get that as my banner?

I think people are being directed to the website feedback forum if they have a problem with the moderation. This has more become a spectator place for viewing ban notes by the mods it would seem.

Also I believe a copy of the post is sent to a mod if someone reports it, so if it was reported before the edit the offending part would still be in the report.

This thread feels almost like a small sub-community of its own. Only boot-licking conformists like myself, torte and probe post here!

Do you HONESTLY think that not one single person who didn't play BW in current sc2 practices the same amount? Do you also think that not one of those people who practices a ton and has a great mindset also has the mechanics that they could have succeeded in BW? Will top BW players have an advantage over some? Obviously due to mechanics and their already regimented training. Does that guarantee that every top player will be a top player of BW? I'll let your delusional self decide that. But its already decided amongst people who love BW and dont enjoy sc2 so yah... perhaps you should go back to watching BW while its still around.
Don't be a dick.
I think tl.net before sc2 was a much more better place T_T.

Still, if you have a community of 10 people it's easy to ignore 1 stupid person. On the other hand it's quite hard to ignore 100 idiots out of a community of a 1000 despite having the same "idiot percentage".

So if you press edit twice they can't see the first text you posted anymore. Can't remember who said it so unsure how accurate it is.
But the offending message is most likely sent along the report. So no amount of edits in that case would help.
