The sheer fact that both of their bans generated such a big controversy amongst posters and mods is proof of that. Charlie's ban didn't generate controversy, did it? I do remember you 'protesting' that one as well, which made me respond to you this time. You can lament the bans, but I trust the moderators actions in those bans. Old guys can stretch the rules, but everyone can break them eventually. And for the record, I liked many of fanatacist's posts. But mainly, you aren't doing the good new posters justice. There have been various people (semi-pro's included) that have contributed nice SC2 strategy posts. People who post their new creative work in blogs. People that provide quality LR's. People getting involved with liquipedia, and TLPD, etc.

I think the explanation for the increment to 3 posts is that TLnet.bot has been getting into the T-shirt business and made this post. I don't know if Hot_Bid had anything to do with it - there is a picture of a besunspectacled Kennigit in the post, though.

lectR was just temp banned for 1 week by Zelniq. That account was created on 2010-09-23 23:56:25 and had 205 posts. Reason: Re-creating a closed thread but this time attacking the mod who closed it.. maybe was not the brightest move. And another guy on the second page calling TL staff nazis. Why do people just ask for bans like that >.> Scrubington was just temp banned for 1 week by Zelniq. That account was created on 2010-06-21 12:56:45 and had 352 posts. Reason: With calling staff nazis and a poor posting history... take time off to reconsider your posting habits

I just don't think this was the right decision in this case and I don't think it's a slight against all new posters to say that I would prefer to have someone like fanta over a bunch of forgettable people than your average new posters that most people couldn't identify. That does acknowledge or deny the existance of good newer posters

I also wonder if it's not a ban-worthy offense to not read the damn OP or the article the OP is linking to.

LaSt)ChAnCe was just temp banned for 1 week by Manifesto7. That account was created on 2005-06-03 19:37:26 and had 1196 posts. Reason: "this is terrible... i hope you get aids" You have been here six years and you post that... If he's that bad after that long this must be his LaSt)ChAnCe. Puns aside I think he must be pretty ignorant to be still doing, considering that he's seen enough of TL to know that that's hardly acceptable.

For example the Delta airlines one (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=231633) and the SWAT one that I don't have a link to at the moment. In one case the OP didn't even read the article properly, and created a sensationalist title. The other one looked more like a case of sensationalism and lack of any further research. In both cases I've felt really tempted to report the OP, but I'm not sure if that'd be deemed "ban-worthy"... I also wonder if it's not a ban-worthy offense to not read the damn OP or the article the OP is linking to. I completely agree with you. TL is not a political forum and I think these threads just tends to make members angry with each other more than anything. There have been too many threads like this. It's a thread about a local story in Florida that definitely has to be the archetype of the sensationalist posts you are talking about. TL is an international Starcraft/gaming community so I would be find to see threads on big world news happenings or on technology news but do we really need to discuss the student in on Texas school kicked out because he wouldn't pray? These threads do nothing but incite bans as TL members start flinging insults at each other. There's a reason reddit exists... I don't know, maybe the two of us are completely crazy.

He's really helpful in the SC2 Strat section, a bit straight-forward, but overall, really useful and pulls a huge weight of duty in the Strat section. I think he's the most overlooked poster on TL.
