That's why I found his change of heart so out of place, usually when people do a 180 on a topic such as politics or religion or philosophy that coincides with them changing something about the way they process information, not just flipping a switch and letting all the other switches untouched. | ||

There's something to be said about propaganda from Murdoch and the like making far right people out of liberals (and also about mass media defending liberalism, as well), but you have to have a desire to ignore other sources of information, like Doodsmack developped, to create something truly unhinged. Especially when you have access to online, everything's out here. His journey was basically that he discovered that the liberal media lied about something (I'm not sure if he was right or not, don't remember) and after some time that caused him to end up trusting everything the far right media says. That isn't a logical cause=>consequence action, there are decisions and ideology involved. I would also point out that he didn't really do a 180, neoliberalism and conservatism are much more similar positions than how they are treated in the US. | ||
