Why ban for that? It's not an ad

its an unreleated post that appears to be some sort of political advertisement for im(Is this even part of the name?) Yong Kim and it was posted in the map contest thread.

Both passages are just quotes from recent news articles (a people's article about Joss Whedon calling Jurassic Park sexist, and a Guardian article about the World Bank Chief's opinion about a carbon tax). I guess the adbot worked since I went and looked up the articles.

It's the same thing in Okinawa. You could probably generate a map of where spam is popular based on a map of military engagements by American forces during the 20th century.

This bot is giving me culture insight, world bank insight, and climate change insight. So again, I ask, why ban this bot who just wants to educate everyone T_T

It just doesn't feel fair. Being popular should not make you stand above rules. And yet it does Because he might be enough of a prick to drop support for sc2 if he gets miffed at tl. Ehhh. I don't think that's the reasoning. Community figures (e.g idra) have always gotten a ton of leeway even when there would be no consequences of removing said leeway. It's just that as community figures they are prominent members of the scene that you want interacting on TL, and as such they get greater latitude than most. That reasoning while not strictly speaking fair is a very pragmatic approach to take. I don't disagree with it. Idra actually got banned once or twice

Being popular should not make you stand above rules. i asked the same thing and was told from a moderator who shall remained unnamed essentially that he has a get out of jail free card because: Show nested quote +SC2 will live even if I have to support the entire scene with my erect penis. which kind of makes sense although his latest tirade was over the top. haha :D
I actually read through the drama and had a good laugh.

And it went really well and made TL a quieter, more civilized place, remebmber? Maybe not banning TB is just a sense of self-preservation.
But honestly I really think people should drop this concept of "fairness", this is is not high school and there is really no reason at all for the rules to be fair, it's not like this is some public space - yes, I had a tendency to argue with some rules and mods, but because I thought they were bad for the discusssion, not "unfair" to some radnom trolls. From this point of view, I enjoy TL much more with TBs maniacal rants than without them.

And once you start allowing stuff like that the overall level of the forum deteriorates. I believe in a much stricter moderation policy than we currently have, for example, moderators making sure that discussions don't just debate the same thing over and over and people repeating the same things endlessly.

Just to be clear - you feel that allowing politeness and respect deteriorates the quality of the forums?
