I think Protoss is the gayest race because I rarely found a protoss willing to macro against me in WoL (I do Blink Stalker all-in, I do 4 gate, or I do DT rush). I mean, congrats, you take the win now and then, but what the fuck? Why can't you just play a fun game of SC2?

If you think about it, it's retarded most protoss on ladder don't use their warp prism besides for a rush. You can literally make it off 200 minerals. Why not abuse that and do things with it on the map? Why are they so obsessed with "200/200 army of Colossi, Zealots, Archons, and Templars? Okay, it's safe time to attack" or "Kekeke, time to cheese." I mean, what about Mixing in stargate with Robotics Facility then get Templars, and expand?

Use Stargate to make phoenixes deny drops early drops, then get a robotics facility and get immortals so you can save up on gas for High Templars.

You don't need to drop stay on 1 tech path. Templar is the gayest, but I love trying to micro against a Templar-based Protoss. Stargate doesn't have to be an all-in; I see so many Protoss try to kill minerals lines with Oracles. Why? Why not just take map control or at least have map vision with your air? Then you can use your Robotics Bay to upgrade your Warp prism speed to do drop play and also make Immortals to break down bunkers and things like that.

Also, for widow mine/marine/maurader/medivac, why the fuck don't you just hallucinate Immortals in the front of your army to tank the damage? 40 seconds later, the battle is usually over anyways, so you can kill the widow mines with an observer from your Robotics Facility.

Templar can be used to storm and feedback.

You can do so much with Protoss, it's just the way the Protoss meta-game evolved. Think about it, Nony's 2 stargate build against Zerg in early WoL? Yeah, you could've started your game from there and abused your race like that. It would've been cool.

But what happened? Some asshole decided that opening Robo could make Colossi faster to kill the Zerg. Then we had PvZ become a total mess, where if you weren't timing attacking with MC's 6gate, you were making Colossi and Voidrays on 3 bases and banking the entire game on that. PvT, what happened? I make Colossi then make High Templars. That was literally the meta-game. Sure, Zealot Archon High Templar was introduced to go from High Templar to Colossi, but that's literally only the reverse of what was originally happening: Colossi -> HT. Is PvT the only matchup with no meta-game whatsoever besides the newest and latest all-in? FUCK YEAH. The game for Protoss literally revolves around making HTs or Colossi initially then transitioning to Colossi or HTs respectively. This is not a problem with game design; game design makes Protoss the most capable race to be every where at once regardless of map. Game design allows Protoss to do whatever bullshit they want at the beginning, but also capable of being on multiple fronts at the same time, being able to deal damage on multiple fronts and also be able to protect your bases from drops and harass and even large pushes with HTs (Colossi need to be backed up, HTs are essentially a 1 shot unit like a widow mine). Look at Parting in his old PvTs, the way he abuses HTs. Game design does not force Protoss to be an all-in race.

It's because Protoss players didn't want to start micro-ing in the first place; you wanted to start making Robo's and DTs for the easy win. Then what happened when it started to be countered? You raged. But not only that, you decided to force yourself into an "all-in" brand; you wanted to end games fast because making Sentries was a bit of gas and you didn't want to force yourself to upgrade your units. So you made more sentries to avoid upgrading, then tried timing attacks AGAIN. Then you lost when Terran players stopped the all-in, and then you blame your god-damn race for making you do that.

Your race doesn't decide how you play; you decide how you play. You don't want to make TvP or ZvP or even PvP fun matchups? That's your own fault. You only know how to all-in, because that's how you made your race. Again, there were multiple points in your meta-game histories that you could actually start making your race a micro-able one. I remember once in the first NASL, MC used Stargate and Templar to demolish SeleCT in a TvP that was epic. Then what happened? No Protoss cared about it and tried to use it on ladder. It faded away, and I'm pretty sure none of you guys even care right now.

TL;DR - The problem is not the race, Protoss should have started out as the most versatile and multi-pronged race in the beginning. It's the way you setup your meta-game; you were obsessed with not micro-ing anything besides your sentries, and didn't even realize your race, like every other, rewards multi-pronged aggression. There were moments in your possible meta-game that could have totally changed the way you played: Nony's 2 Stargate opening, MC's Phoenix+HT play vs SeleCT in NASL s1, Parting's HTs across the map play in PvT, and a lot of others. You just didn't want to do it, and that's why the least favorite race of any one to play against is Protoss, Protoss included.

Want even more proof of my assertion? Look at literally every Protoss Strategy thread in the Strategy Forum. How many of them are are about a timing attack or an all-in? How many of them are obsessed with making a maxed out army of Colossi and HTs? And then tell me:

Just how many are actually about being able to get map control to play a better macro game? Probably not that many.
