i have a question(s)..
Some of these bans I see mods say things like "plus you have a bad post history" "you have a history of making these posts", etc.
Im wondering, when mods go to ban somebody (or even look into their posting history) how is this done? I mean, do you sit there and read through every single post a person has made? How far back do you go? Some of these bans have people with posts into the thousands, do you guys seriously read all 1000 posts? Or do the posts that were warned/temp banned show up as some flag in their history?
Just curious about these things. I'd have to say, if you truly do go through all 1000 posts in a persons posting history, props to you guys! I would never have the patience enough to be a mod here.

It's actually really to go into someone's posting history for any TL user.
Ex: your mod history http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/search.php?q=for this post[&t=c&f=-1&u=Ryuhou)aS(&gb=date&d=
Is completely clean.
Ex: my mod history http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/search.php?q=for this post[&t=c&f=-1&u=Praetorial&gb=date&d=
Is very not clean
Just enter a name into the search bar and it'll give links to all the places where they were warned/banned or quoted someone who was.

Hmm, it seems the page designers were being geniuses when the made this.
And yes, my history is pretty virgin...i think i post like once every 500 times I view TL.

Reason: 3 bans 8 warnings, enough is enough. So on that emphasis... does that mean people like me are on thin ice?

Reason: 3 bans 8 warnings, enough is enough. So on that emphasis... does that mean people like me are on thin ice? its also about ratio of posts, you have over 8k lol, he has below 2k big difference there Less about ratio of mod actions to total posts and more about ratio of shit posts to quality posts, factoring the frequency of mod actions. If you post 5k times over the course of a few months and have close to 5 bans and any number of warnings you're living dangerously in much the same fashion as someone who posts maybe 500-1000 times over a few months and gets the same amount of bans/warnings. The severity of the situation in both cases can always be lessened if you generally contribute with quality posts. At least, if one mod has enough and perms you and then we reconsider, you have a better chance of having mods that will see redeeming value in bringing the ban down to a temp. Hmm, well I've already had a banling call me a "shitty poster" within the last few months... A bad sign for sure.

Shitty poster is a little more direct I suppose.

It's just learning how to use the search button.

Kadaver even tried to be all friendly and rescue him but asdffdsa didnt take the opportunity at all >_>

So if you are on thin ice... does that mean I am dead in the water, posting from a cold grave? No because no mod is out to get you and you have no real recent mod history. It is all in your head. You're not on thin ice.

Now. Of course they were HIS maps and HIS thread so he DID NOT WANT the derailing. But as far as he could tell, people were A L W A Y S telling him that something was just wrong.
Now. He seemed to have gotten offended when people were saying things were wrong with his map when that's not what he
was looking for. That thread was to be a TEST MAP thread only. And if people had feedback, he wanted the feedback posted
in the BWMN where no one cares about what they write.
I'll say it a fourth time (he counted wrong, he only said it three times in his thread) he felt that people should NOT DERAIL his thread with useless opinions. Oh and of course, any further stupid opinions and he is going to go get a mod to tell them to stop and ban them from HIS thread.
Thank you Bibbit for that link. I laughed quite a lot

Well, you have to agree that it is not very nice to say that something is wrong with his map when it is in fact perfect. Anyone reasonable would see that the map is indeed perfect, and give nice useful feedback like "Oh my god your map is so good, i think it actually ended world hunger and war at the same time through its sheer awesomeness. Also i own Korea and want to buy your map for 73000$." But the problem is that a few haters are stalking him whereever he posts and just derail HIS THREAD with useless comments.
