Woah, I've never seen this mod before, I don't think. Am I the only one? LosingID8 was more active while broodwar was bigger (he still posts from time to time I think) so its a very old mod I had the pleasure of meeting him in person one time during the last BW OSL Finals party in NYC. We share the same name, pretty much (our last names are different by one letter). On topic, I know these are old bans, but I haven't looked at bans in a while and want to discuss two of them. Show nested quote + Gamegene was just banned by EvilTeletubby.

Reason: Warned and temp banned far too many times for the same thing. Hope it was worth it!
Can someone link me the exact post that broke the camel's back? I am curious because I didn't know him very well and thought he was just another poster. Show nested quote +duoform was just banned by motbob.
That account was created on 2012-08-08 21:41:02 and had 400 posts.
Reason: LOL, how was this not a ban??? I knew from the first time I bumped into him that he wouldn't last very long. Good riddance, I say.

There needs to be a culling of these mediocre pros watering down the scene. It's understandable to have the young guys, like Illusion, on the team who are developing, but they shouldn't be the backbone of the team. The team overall is comprised of "also ran's." I wouldn't have predicted any of these players to win a major tournament, much less beat a current GSL player in a BoX. Being selected to be on a pro team should be an extraordinary achievement for a player. They should be freaks of nature as far as gaming goes with skill levels that leave you in awe as a spectator (e.g. SKTRain's 4 pronged DT attack vs Idra). For me, too many people are getting a chance that shouldn't.
That leads into the lack of sponsorship killing the team. I, like some who posted previously, had to Liquidpedia their roster. I only knew Illusion because of his run in one tournament a while ago, Flo because she's a female and Sase because he's friends with Naniwa. My lack of awareness is directly linked to the lack of tournament results. Other than the EG team and Destiny, which are anomalies, the players I know are those that win. Winning seems to be leaps and bounds the best way to get your name and your sponsor's name out there, besides a Hot_Bid interview that is. When you field a team of players that don't really have any tournament success, the chances are few and far between to advertise yourself. But SC2 and eSports are still pretty new to most, hopefully this is just growing pains and in the future things will stabilize so this kind of thing won't happen again.
tldr: good players > win > advertising > happy sponsors > stable team, duh lol not only are you a massive dick, but you don't have any idea what you're talking about LOL. User was banned for this post. found it, but all of his most recent posts suck.

+ Show Spoiler +If Fenrax has the "Quality Poster" star, how come he's got so many moderations? Or rather, if he has so much mod action hanging over him, why is he still considered such a "Quality Poster?" I ask out of ignorance and not accusation.
Edit: I IS DUMB. Mistook his Liquibet award for the star. Explanation forthcoming.

He normally seems fine to me but he seems to have snapped a few weeks ago and now is just consistently shitposting. seems to me he just got really fed up over a couple of things: 1. state of balance in a video game 2. people holding fundamentally offensive views to his morality 3. how people get away with posting morally offensive garbage as long as they are civil
I think to him and alot of people, it's actually much more painful to see a civil or well argued morally offensive post than a morally correct but ill constructed or profane post. TL sanctions the former and not the latter in alot of cases. As long as you don't string together swear words or attack another poster and specify the scope of an argument you can pretty much post prejudice you want on TL.
I think profanity and excessive language does have a place in expressing the intensity of an opinion, especially an opinion that a person feels strongly inclined to express or defend, or an opinion that is qualified to have the degree of impact that excessive language carries. But unfortunately as with presenting any opinion in a public medium, the verbal content carries very little weight and the presentation is what people ultimately remember.
