I know, apologies; I expressed myself badly. What I meant is that I think that was Sam's point: if you think that you should think history in terms of 100 years maximum because that's how long you can expect to live, you really are saying that having any long term view about the world is useless because you won't be there anymore. Sam therefore pointed out the fact that with such reasonning, you make little case of your children, grand children etc... At least that's what I understood. | ||

Homosexuality is a choice by a person, it does in no way take advantage of another person. In a homosexual relationship, both participants are willing. Paedophilia is a completely different thing. | ||

Thinking that an absolutely genuine love story with a young teenager and an adult cannot exist would really be misknowing human nature and love in general. There have been some scandals of "pedophilia" where you could absolutely argue that it was more of a legitimate love story than most of what you see between consenting adults. Of course, then there is the old pervert who rapes little girls. The problem is that what we call "pedophilia" doesn't make any difference between both. It is a social norm, just like homosexuality a hundred years ago. You can argue it is a necessary one, it doesn't change its arbitrary nature. And yes, there is a huge taboo and a rather hysterical social stigma against the very idea that you don't need to be 16 to be in love and loved, to have sexual desires, and so on. | ||
