But the guy really couldn't stand being 30 day banned and wanted me to pass on his individual arguments to people in the politics thread so he could continue the debate by proxy. And then he had the nerve to constantly pm me on different people that should be moderated in the politics thread- until I tired of it and disabled his pm'ing until his temp ban was over. Don't know if he got a chance to use it again before he got perm'd.
the real question is did you do his posting for him?

I warned him a couple times that I didn't want a running commentary of the US thread for 30 days and then shut off the tap when it wouldn't stop.

Anyone notice that around the 200s is when most posters begin to rake in the bans? I don't know, I feel like that's the time when the perms are most generally handed out. Is there a way a mod could figure out what the average post count of permed users is?

Definitely not the mean, and probably not the median. Congrats to the Dota2 key thread.

someone should make a graph.

You gotta wonder, though, what the worst bans/posts ratio is in an active user.

Well, I mean, as with average lifespan, you have to shave off the infant mortality and that sort of thing to get an accurate expectancy. I'm talking about besides the people that are spam bots or PBUs. Which I know is a huge portion of people, but I mean the users that didn't join this site to be deliberately malicious, right off the bat.

but are there enough zero post bans to compensate for all the high post bans? I'd expect the average to still be at least like 2 digits

Yacobs was just temp banned for 2 days by Nyovne.
That account was created on 2010-03-23 22:22:12 and had 197 posts.
Reason: When taking a moment to go through your contributions to our Dota2 Strategy forum I can not but conclude that your contributions are consistently of a level under our expectations. Making simply incorrect statements and sensationalist thread titles would have been cause for a warning and a serious PM about this behavior. The flaming that was discovered in your post history however sealed the deal. Take two days off and consider this a strong incentive to increase your posting quality in the Dota 2 section of teamliquid.net.
Created a really bad Dota2 thread here, defending a really bad strategy and also stated flaming others, myself included for telling him to stop posting like flamewheel.
On October 11 2012 22:38 Yacobs wrote:Don't tell me what to do, internet tough guy. No it's not. When someone says "X is the best item," it's pretty obvious they're not including standard consumables that are basically a necessity. User was temp banned for this post. The best part is flamewheel comes in later and double-posts like a boss.

On a related note, Heyoka rocks at moderating the Dota2 forums! Sent him 2 PMs, resulted in 1 ban and 1 closed thread.
