Im pretty bad at computer tech, whats DDOS, like whats it meant to do to TL, i remember somewhere that destiny had this kidvshim over youtube who would break his internet connection. So i'm not sure how that applies to a website so everyone just cant get on TL? On a abl note, was Bad_HabitALT the same person as w0rmer? | ||

Basically he makes a lot of connections from a lot of machines (usually botnets are used for this) which overwhelms the server. | ||

DDoS stands for "distributed denial-of-service [attack]" and it basically means that there are a variety of tactics employed to the ultimate goal of making a site and/or service inaccessible to its users. So, for example, an attacker could try to overload TL's servers with some method in order to prevent people from accessing the site. The distributed part means that the malicious user acquires a network of dummy computers and connections (either with the computers appropriated for this purpose, or it might be an unknown use of someone's personal comp without his/her knowledge), i.e. "distributes" the attack. | ||
