GGDeMoN was just temp banned for 1 week by semioldguy. That account was created on 2011-04-19 02:34:37 and had 20 posts. Reason: Don't make all-caps posts, and don't go into people's fan clubs to hate on them. You have twenty posts with a previous ban and warning already and most of your posts are terrible. Now the post that sparked the ban looks like a typical piece of random and mindless player hate, in the JohnnyRecco fanclub thread, and not that interesting, except that it was followed up with: On June 15 2012 06:44 Ourk wrote: why u bming him? its his fan club man.... to which GGDeMoN replied: On June 15 2012 06:46 GGDeMoN wrote: says the guy who told me to do it :D sorry admins im only joking, u can delete it Which suggests it was all meant as dumb, mindless, harmless, fun, but what's interesting is that Ourk is the recipient of a tempban, without any notification in the ABL thread, and without any obvious indication as to how he got his ban in his post history. My guess is that both these characters probably got banned for colluding in the original post, and that the admin decided not to draw attention to Ourk's ban, since he was placing highly in the very same tournament that's brought JohnnyRecco to everyone's attention and that might have sparked off some unwanted LR thread or Fanclub thread drama. Of course, that's pure uninformed speculation, and it could easily be totally wrong, but, hey, if I knew anything at all, I wouldn't be posting in THIS thread, would I? I'd be in the sooper-elite invite-only ABL thread with all the cognoscenti. | ||

No Ourk is actually banned, there is no fake notification and nothing in the ABL. EDIT: found it, nothing to do with his posts: Ourk was just temp banned for 2 weeks by heyoka. That account was created on 2010-04-20 05:27:28 and had 118 posts. Reason: Your posting history isn't great, and you've spent an interesting amount of time vandalizing LP. Give it some time to think about contributing positively or lose the ability to be a part of the community. | ||

toiletCAT was just temp banned for 2 days by Empyrean. That account was created on 2012-06-06 00:13:57 and had 265 posts. Reason: Stop making terrible one-liner posts. And spell out words. I'd assume it was a facetious post, referring to the name of the thread where the OP stated the obvious by saying that he disconnects from B.net when he has an internet connection. I know precisely dick about anything tech-related though, so I'm not sure. | ||

The guy was asking, essentially, if he also had those problems when he wasn't connected to the internet. There's no such thing as a facetious post if you don't put a disclaimer on it, in tech. Hyperbole and funny analogies can be one thing, but pure jokes and sarcasm with no disclaimer don't work. | ||

For example, you know almost nothing about computers: If I tell you about a product called thermal paste that you use to glue your CPU heatsink on instead of using mounting hardware, you'd probably believe me. (People actually have complained about breaking their graphics cards this way.) As it turns out, thermal paste is a nickname, and all it does is help thermal conductivity. It isn't glue. Since tone and facial expression don't translate well to text, and it's the tech board, see why I say it shouldn't be considered a joke without making it obvious? | ||

Ercster was just temp banned for 30 days by Nyovne. That account was created on 2011-08-01 18:26:27 and had 320 posts. Reason: 320 posts, 7 warnings, 2 bans. Of which a ban and two warnings for bashing and flaming have been issued in the last 30 days. Unacceptable. He lurks, our silent protector. I miss Nyovne, he was fun. Interesting to note we have had bans from Xxio, Plexa, Intrigue, Kwark, Cow and GTR in the last few pages. Ban team working together for the greater good  | ||
