I wasnt active on this forum before sc2 beta but I watched bw for a long time (up until the betting scandal) and while I follow sc2 I in no way celebrate the dying of sc1. Its like has never been seen in gaming and likely will never be seen again. A golden age if you will. That doesnt take away from my enjoyment of sc2 or dota2 or whatever. I still feel sad that bw will not longer after a time be this amazing thing behind competitive gaming. To cheer its death makes me angry. | ||

If you set the bar too high for you first time either it wont happen due to performance anxiety or you feel disappointed afterwards because it didn't live up to the hype you set for it, or you it is just that awesome but then you can't do something as great again and you'll never be content with any following bans or you'll have to raise the bar even higher and it will take even longer before you can do that. And while it's true you only get one "first" ban it's kinda arbitrary to put any extra significance to that. I mean I could just as well say my most epic ban will be my 74th, that's just as arbitrary, and I only get one 74th ban, right? If or when I do an epic ban I'll remember it just as much as I would if it was my first ban. Sure I'll remember my first ban, but that doesn't mean I need to make it extra special, those will come when they'll come naturally, which is way better than doing something that's forced. | ||
