By the looks of what I've seen, they do one hell of a good job at rationalizing their bans... even though people like you and me don't have the right to deserve a reason for it anyway. If I ran this place and banned somebody that I thought deserved it, I wouldn't give anybody the courtesy of questioning me about it. You know why? Because I don't have to. It's not like they have a 700 page book of terms and conditions that outline every possible example that could arise on the forum. They just read something that pisses them off, then click a button.
This just made my night. I was thinking something around those lines but the mod I talked too was right. I guess I was outta line when I brought fans into the argument. But I'm not the only person whose ever done that I'm sure. The only thing is I wish I would of gotten some sort of temp ban or warning but it was like BAM! insta perma ban. Alright..NOW I'm off to discuss games..(I hope no one else responded)

I actually meant the revolution of the poor mistreated tl posters (You) rising up against the horribly mean moderators that ban people for 2/3 of their posts being atrocious and then playing the martyr about it. It was a joke, you see, because there isn't any injustice going on here, you were just banned for making crappy posts. But you are 'done' now, so I guess this post was useless.

Honestly I don't see any reason why you guys should warrant anybody a reason for being banned, or consider debating with them about your reasoning for doing so, other than it being a huge courtesy on your part.
If people want to gamble their chances on what kind of content they want to post, let them. And if and when they get banned for it, tough shit for them, they just learned something.
I hardly see any examples in which debating about the reasoning for the ban afterward ever ends up better off than simply not having responded to it at all. However, I do get extremely jealous at how much fun you guys have when you choose to debate back and forth with the guy about it. Reminds me a lot of BW public chat when everyone is trying to stir up shit with each other.

To the mods/admins that get burned out discussing a bunch of reasons why people get banned, thank you for taking the time.
I know it gets frustrating trying to explain bans reasons to the offenders, especially since they just don't get how things work in the first place. That's why they are getting banned after all. Yet you have to realize that there is a silent majority reading and learning from all your explanations. You can't help those who obviously are beyond help, but I think a lot of people learn what being a 'good poster' is all about from futile attempts to educate the people who will never get it.
Just consider this thread a FAQ on learning what's expected of good posting in the TL universe. People are learning the lessons from the time you take out to explain bans. It's just not the people who are wondering why they keep getting banned.
P.S. Plus I find this thread and ban thread a nice diversion of entertainment.

Out of curiosity, is there anyway to see a users/your own past bans? I remember being temp banned 2-3 times and I'm interested in seeing the reasons (one of which i basically knew i would be banned for(1000th blog), but i was basically setting myself up for the joke to come ). Im also interested in seeing how many temp bans some users in particular have stocked up over the years.

Haha, He was in bed when he watched hitchens decimate theresa intellectually. That was what he meant, at least probably. Or he wanted to be funny for himself and knew the double-meaning when he posted. Dont see how it can be so hard to interpret when you know when Hitchens is.
