He was banned from TL with good reason, anything else beyond that belongs in one of the 12 Destiny threads, not here.

@Daphreak i think that was what BlackKnight was trying to show. People are so outraged at a screenshot and some words. He was just giving them more viable targets, and i believe Idra is just as unrepentant as Destiny is.
@Toast Telling somebody to get on topic in the ABL? that is funny, hell i thought this was just a area of the forum where mods don't care if you needlessly farm up your post count. Used to be about discussing/commenting on bans. My bad.

In my eyes, white knighting is when you mindlessly defend someone simply because of their gender (particularly members of the female sex). Sticking up for someone simply because they are a woman, and therefore you believe they need protection from the mean people on the internet. Which is a sexist act worthy of derision. However, if you defend someone who you agree with and who happens to be a woman, that is fine and not worthy of derision nor people going "LOL VIRGIN WITT KNIGHT!"
However, on the internet some people find it hard to distinguish the two.

maybe its just me, and im old, but i always considered white knighting going to the defense of people who are defenseless. i understand the sexist undertones, but thats not how im seeing people use it on these forums. they use it to insult people who are trying to defend ideals they believe in.

I always thought that white-knighting was a combination of the two: wading into a thread to the defensive of a seemingly defenseless subject as an act in itself of passive-aggressively (and usually unknowingly) suggesting they are incapable of defending themselves.

In addition, I wouldn't say this is a place where we "farm up" our post counts. Farming would imply that it's a monotonous, repetitive activity, but really, whether it's de-railed or not, this community (albeit small) is tight-knit and prone to friendly discussion/banter/talk from all sides.
