We've changed a bunch of things to improve the process of submitting events to our calendar. It should now hopefully be clearer and easier to use. Thanks to R1CH for the magics.
There now is a link "Submit Events" in the sidebar
Reordered the submission form
Renamed a bunch of the fields
See which events are pending approval
Ability to preview how the calendar entry will look
Edit or cancel a pending submission before it is reviewed
Use templates to easily add recurring events
Added some new fields like players and casters
Calendar entries will now state who submitted the event
The best change is that for BW and SC2 there's a field for participating players that is able to scan for player names, based on TLPD, among any text you enter. This makes pasting player fields from websites such as Liquipedia incredibly easy.
I'd like to use this opportunity to remind everyone that, much like Liquipedia, the calendar is a tool that relies on the input and participation of the community. Without the efforts of the community we would never be able keep it as informative as it is now. So big thanks to everyone who has been helping out with the calendar. If you are looking for ways to contribute to the scene, this is one of the many ways to do it, and it is now easier than ever. If you see an event missing from the calendar please consider submitting it yourself. It really is a big help. Even when if it is a major tournament that you assume someone else will add, someone has to end up doing it regardless, and the earlier things are on the calendar the better for everyone.
The new system is available here (login required) if you would like to take a look or submit an event.
Thanks to everyone who does this. But I personally think anybody doing any kind of event will just shoot himself in the foot by not submitting his event. It is certainly the best and probably the most used tool to get people to watch your tournament.
slightly irrelevant question. I want to make an android for viewing events and participants. Is there technical doc that I could use to retrieve calendar data?
With this change, is there any chance of making the calendar for a month again (instead of just a week)?
Since that change I've found I just don't use it anymore, instead using reddit, or joindota instead, which is unfortunate, because I really like the TL calendar.

We'll consider this if we see tournaments added in advance for it to be worthwhile.
When loading the template, the date+time is not in the correct timezone. I guess you're saving to Korean time in the database and not converting back to the timezone saved with the template
e.g. I saved a template with 19 CET, when loading it comes up 2 CET the following day

This should be fixed, thanks.
Time is fixed, date is still wrong e.g. my template for Go4SC2 #317 should be 2013-10-17 not -18
When I am browsing the entire list of events (this page: http://www.teamliquid.net/calendar/2013/10/) It always annoys me that when I am ctrl+f'ing seaching for an event, I can only see the time it is played, I have to scroll up/down to find out what date is connected to the event, since dates are only shown as headers.
Any possibility that dates will be added to each individual event?

I think the date you saved in the template must be wrong, since it's listed as the 19th in the database (KST) which is being converted back to 18th on load. Try changing and saving it again and let me know if it persists.
