Thanks for the response everyone! We have collected these emails and given out our tickets, the winners should receive an email from Blizzard regarding their tickets.
Blizzard will be announcing details soon about how to attend and purchase tickets for WCS Finals in Shanghai (November 17-18, 2012).
Currently the WCS is in its continental finals stages, where players compete for the final 32 slots.
European Finals will take place in September, with players like Grubby, White-Ra, LucifroN, ThorZaIN, Nerchio, Ret, VortiX, Stephano, and SortOf competing for six seeds.
North American Finals will happen at MLG Raleigh this weekend, where seven seeds will go to a field that includes HuK, NonY, ViBE, Major, Illusion, IdrA, and Scarlett.
Asian Finals will take place in October, where top China, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Philippines players will compete against South Korea's best for five seeds. The GSL and KeSPA players qualified include Seed, PartinG, Creator, Squirtle, Rain, HerO, and RorO.
Oceania (mOOnGLaDe, MaFia) finals are already completed.
We've been given 25 tickets by Blizzard to distribute among the TL community for those interested in attending. Please note that these are for event access only, we are not covering travel and accommodations. Additionally, passport and visa issues to China are your own responsibility.
While the average fan may not be going to China, we do have some TL members who live in the country and some who may be visiting over WCS finals time period and wish to attend. If you are one of those people who are seriously interested in attending the event, please contact us.
Please include: 1. Your full name 2. Your battle.net email address
For more information about the Battle.net WCS Championships and how to get tickets, go to Blizzard's news about it.

It says Major in the OP, hence my confusion.

Even though I live in Southern China, doubt I would be able to make the event. I'll look into it, would be a great thing to see!

Isn't it the wrong Rain? Shouldn't it be the Protoss Kespa player?
|
On August 23 2012 09:04 Sabre wrote: so saddening that NA gets one more spot than EU to me... Blizzard must read the forums. Thinking possibly Stephano and crew really do represent USA.
This is quite a nice incentive to plan a trip, but I didn't really enjoy myself the last time in China. I hope these tickets go to people with true intentions of going.
|
Let's see if EU Zerg are stronger than KR Protoss
|
Stephano is already seeded into the Global finals, he still can play the European one?
|

There are also a lot of countries who's #1 player got a direct seed to the world finals and there were more from Europe than in Asia or America and while I haven't checked the numbers I'm pretty sure Europe will end up with more players in the world finals then North American
|
why did you exclude the South America seeds?
|
Errr, I think you forgot about the South American players.
|
I prefered GomTvT over GomPvP =p
|
Can't participate without an battle.net account ?
edit : oh nvm, there's a way to contact admins directly for people living in China.

It's worth going to China for WCS Grand Finals, because you can stay two more weeks and see WCG Grand finals !
|
WCS Europe is played in Stockholm at Globen (16 000 seats). Imagine what it would do for esport if it actually filled the whole arena for two days straight with SC2. Nuts!
|
It says competing for 7 seeds, not "these players got the 7 seeds". They just wrote some of the more famous NA pros that are attending.
|
I come from Sweden but currently live in Beijing and will deffinetly intend this event! Hope I can get one ticket.
|
Wrong Rain , not from fnatic, KeSPA Rain

NVM was because I written entirely different post but quickly decided it was broken so switched it to NVM. The offer is actually sweet and my first reaction was if I can go to China for the occassion.

I am living in China, hope i can get a ticket since i have already booked my flight ticket to Shanghai for the weekend ;p
Are there any information How to get tickets for the Asian finals? And will they be casted in English on the stage? As far as i remember the Chinese Nationals were only casted in english in some studio.
|
lol, those poor South American seeds.
Too bad that I don't have any way to get to China. Otherwise I would snap these up really fast :3

Yes and Russia as well, so Europe will end up with 9 seeds over 7 from NA.
|
Are there any TL-members living in/close to Shanghai that could accomodate two guys from Sweden? If we have free (or close to free) housing we might be able to make it. PM for further details. :-)

That is wrong Rain for TLPD!

Canada and USA have seeds as well, according to LP, which would mean NA and Europe have both 9 seeds. Honestly, that seems fair. Although EU is much stronger than NA, prize-pools of continentals of the first WCS should be similar. Adjustments should be made according to the results of the first WC.

Lets not miss the point here guys... Hotbid says 25 tickets! I'll be submitting my info Thanks TL and Blizzard for thinking of us <3

How about a thread on TL/Facebook for those who are attending WCS? I bought eleven tickets for WCS Europe and it would be fun to have a common page where we can plan/read info about crowd stuffs 'TIFO'

Yeah, I'll probably create a thread in the community forum when I have time, I'm the local guy haha.
|
This is great best of luck to the winners hope you guys post them up
|
I'll be there! I'm from shanghai =D
|
Do the north armerican finals start today??
|
When will the results of the giveaway released ? I have only applied on TL so far, but I am afraid some people will apply on multiple communities and some tickets are going to be wasted.
|
You have to give your Battle net Email, as far as I understand the Fansites need to report to Blizz the winners, so they will check if someone won more then one. They even recommanded to apply on more than one site.

I don't have a battle.net email, can't I see the WCS ? Let me see if I can create one.
edit : oh that was easy, I expected they would ask for a product serial to validate the account, which I didn't have. Thanks ! I guess I need to contact TL admins again to provide my newly created bnet address.

Hey guys, does anyone know what the plan would be for someone hoping to attend the china nationals this weekend? I'm currently in Beijing, would be interested in bulleting down for Saturday/Sunday if anyone could tell me if there's TL plans.
|
in china.. would give an arm and a leg for a ticket.. well okay not my arms, need them for sc2..
|
Got my e-mail from Blizzard this morning. It says you have to print it and bring your ID. Be there early on satursday for the opening ceremony they say.
THANKS TL BY THE WAY!
If you filled in a Mainland China mobile phone number when registering yourself for this event, we will send you a text message shortly, which will contain the same ticket information. When you receive the text message, please SAVE IT.
On the event days of Battle.net World Championship (hereinafter as “BWC”), you must print this entire email and bring it with you, along with photo ID, to the event.
[edit] I got two of them, one comes from TL but the second one... no idea. Maybe from my SC2 chinese account. I'll talk to them to see what's up.
|
:o I got an email just then about tickets. I was curious though to whether it was a legit one. I assume.. it is? Cause that would be awesome.
|
I just got two as well. Organization was super messy damn, no confirmation of participation, no ETA, and now I got two tickets with the same name on it. Still happy, so, thanks !
|
I only participated on TL and got one. Huge, huge thanks to TL!
I don't know Chinese and was waiting for an English announcement about ticket sales. I was incredibly disappointed when I found out all the tickets were already sold out on the Chinese website. Shame on Blizzard and their announcement of announcement for the ticket sales which never came.
So happy to see a big tournament Live! Thanks again.

On two different e-mail addresses right?

Yeah, two different email addresses but it was not intended. TL used my B.net address as requested in the OP. The other giveaway used the address I used to contact them. Anyway, there were less than a dozen giveaways, so the chances of having two people with the exact same name were pretty slim... And since none of the giveaways were giving confirmations of participation, it definitely encouraged people to enter multiple giveaways. I wouldn't be surprised if most of us got at least two tickets... While in the Shanghai TL meet up thread I have already like 10 people looking for tickets... sigh.
Venue won't be packed anyway, so hopefully the whole thing doesn't matter and they will let people in.
|
Dam it missed out, I really hope that was not all the tickets available because despite trying for a while now it's been a nightmare getting a hold of them. I'll be heading down regardless though >.<
