PLEASE RSVP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!! I NEED TO SUBMIT A LIST OF PEOPLE COMING TO CYBERCRAFT TO THE OWNER BY THURSDAY, SO IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO, PLEASE RSVP!
THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IS NOW LIMITED TO 25 (excluding me) BECAUSE THERE'S ONLY 20 25 COMPUTERS HERE RIGHT NOW!!
I am really young / don't want to drive / am underage / don't want to party. Should I come? Yes. I am bad at StarCraft. Should I come? Yes. I don't know many people from the TL community / am really shy. Should I come? Yes. Can I bring a friend? Yes. I have a really cute Asian girlfriend / sister / friend. Should I bring her? Yes. What: Tving OSL Finals When: July 27th-28th, 2012 August 3rd-4th, 2012 Where: CYBERCRAFT!!!
Why: It's the last BW OSL. Last chance to see great Korean players play great BW. How (this event will go down):
Friday 7PM SHARP!!: Dinner at Sam Won Gak 9-10 PM: Arrive at Cybercraft. Please have your $25s ready. You will be given 6 hours to play BW and other games on the computers. Saturday 5 AM: Start watching OSL Finals. After OSL Finals: breakfast, maybe?
BW only has LAN at the moment, since they still have not received a bulk of CD-keys.
We will watch the OSL Finals in the morning and then we may or may not go out for breakfast (if you have any suggestions, feel free to post them).
Feel free to bring snacks and drinks, but I encourage you to purchase candy and drinks from the front desk as a show of support to the new Cybercraft. Also, please be careful when consuming food at Cybercraft and please clean up after yourselves.
A few days of stocking up food and drinks leading up to the match isn't bad, such as heading to a warehouse store to stock up on chips and soda. There must be a lot of Coca-Cola for ZoW, and pizza from Pizza Hut from Blasterion and I.

Good idea. Any particular place in mind? There's netcafe above modell's and another PC cafe by the LIRR bridge.
But the buses don't run at wee hours in the morning, so unless we have enough cars (which I doubt), then we cannot stay too late.
yeah i'd bank on the latest we can stay out is around 1-2ish, or we could be real men and not give a fuck and walk to your place after
i know of those 2, there is also one up at union across from the big parking lot. i'll remember to scout out some of them next time i'm around in flushing. there may be a few more i don't know about, we'll see

My place is pretty far from Flushing...
I tried walking to Flushing once, it took almost two whole hours.
Just checked out the place next to the Union parking lot.
I played on iccup here. You can download iccup launcher and the mappack and play iccup (no hosting, obviously). It's also cheaper than old Cybercraft, although it's smaller. Closes at 1 AM though.
Technically, it's not Long Island, it's in Bayside, which is a part of Queens, though it is pretty close. From where I live, it would take 2+ hours from home to get there, but I'll be getting off of work, so the traveling is slightly less of a burden.
Obviously there must be a round 2 of Breakfast. IHOP vs. Me.

If I head over I can pick you up in Harlem, not entirely sure if I am going. Is there parking near by and how much is it? I went to school in Manhattan but never wondered over to Queens so I don't really know the area.
and wtf, take the subway It would cost you like 2$

There is plenty of parking near here, so do not worry about that. It is almost like a suburb, so no charge for parking.
From what I heard, it's different management, and they're doing construction in the back to remove the barriers of the back area. Also, the front computers are similar to CyberIcon's setup, where there are computers on the walls, and the pathway is in the middle. The accounts from the previous CyberCraft will be wiped (not entirely sure), as well as there might be a pricing change.

Assuming the schedule for the finals stays the same, the finals will begin on the morning of July 28th EST, so we will start our event the night before.

Probably around 7 PM. More concrete details to follow after this Saturday, so keep a lookout.
I am totally down to attend this! I am literally flying in to NYC the 26th cause I am moving so just in time! Never been too much of a broodwar follower but I like to see Flash play. Watching Flash vs Fantasy atm and it is CRAZY!!!
According to what I heard from today's semifinals broadcast, the date of the finals is uncertain because OGN is trying to get a better location or something. Depending on when it happens, I may not be able to hold it at my house because I have a weeklong trip from the 5th of August to the 11th. More details to come as they are released.

Are there any updates from Cybercraft, apart fromt the things that I heard?
Not yet. Will be heading over to Flushing this Saturday again to see if it is open.
Also, if Cybercraft doesn't work out, what kind of food and drinks should I prepare? I may have to collect some money from everyone to cover the costs. If pizza is involved, I would say maybe 5 dollars a person.
Okay, I visited Cybercraft today and the new management was there.
They were still in the middle of setting up, but they said that they will hopefully be fully operational by the end of the week. Currently they are trying to install all the games and have them working with the Internet Cafe Software. I am going to frequent Cybercraft over this week to help them in the process (and have BW working with proper colors and scaling).
I also talked to them about hosting the OSL event there, and they said that even though they don't open 24 hours anymore (the hours are now 10AM-4AM) they said that they will try to accommodate us for this event. The fact that 10-12 of us are going to be playing there all night long that night certainly helped butter them up.
Cybercraft has definitely changed from before. Carpet floors, mechanical keyboards, and gaming mouses are for starters. The entire back section became some kind of a gambling/sweepstakes floor where people buy internet time and get free credits to play slots or something. The gaming computers are at the front of the place. Currently there are 20 gaming computers in place, but more will probably come as business picks up.
Certified was also there, and he's currently contacting Steam about getting all the Steam games set up there. Cybercraft LANs will be running again once everything at Cybercraft is operational.

You're too moe to hate. Plus, don't you have that SoCal OSL Party too with wala.
Question: What type of gaming gear do they have?
Also debating whether we should have KBBQ as our last final meetup.
Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K90 Newegg Mouse: Don't remember, but it was a gaming mouse for sure.
Tomorrow I will send blast to check up on the place. Last time I went there on Tuesday, the gate was closed.
Also, KBBQ? It might be a little too expensive, but if everyone's willing to pay, then I'm up for it.
Also, if you are going to the party and you're not on the RSVP list, please pm me so that I can add you. Also specify the number of friends you will be bringing if any.
I only suggested Picnic Garden because I feel the need for the final OSL event (possibly BW event in NYC) to go out with a bang, and what's better than this since Kibibit and I will sit there waiting to eat for 2 hours while the rest of the people there talk. Then the issue would become that we would need to get there early to get seats, as well as everyone's willingness to pay ($28 for All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ).

Don't forget that we may eat Ihops after the finals, so that is more money.
I cant make it to the event, but maybe you guys can help me out with something. My friends and I have been looking for another internee cafe since Icon closed, we cant really find any good spots other than blu ray, and thats a bit too deep into main street for us. Any suggestions?

DC kids should get here since there is a low chance of a DC OSL party.
So have we decided at Cybercraft or jpak's house yet?
I say CyberCraft if possible, so we can play BroodWar there...=) Also, I'm guessing our CyberCraft PC ID's no longer exist? I had a few hours in there still, haha.
I will be playing Mahjong, probably with ZoW, Kibibit, and Blast.
Definitely finalize the plans for Cybercraft as well as the dinner in a couple of days. I want to know what time I can leave from work and head over there. The only problem for me would probably trying to stay up all this time.
OKAY EVERYBODY. DETAILS HAVE BEEN FINALIZED!! (Also in the OP)
THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IS NOW LIMITED TO 20 BECAUSE THERE'S ONLY 20 COMPUTERS HERE RIGHT NOW!!
I have negotiated with the new owner about hosting the OSL Finals party at Cybercraft. He said that since we will be there all night, he wants to collect an entrance fee. I settled the entrance fee at $30 which will include all the playing time we will need at Cybercraft that night + the privilege of watching the OSL Finals on the new Samsung SmartTV. Note that the new Cybercraft's membership program is not operational yet, so there is no need to worry about wasting hours or anything like that. Since they are normally closed at 4 AM, the owner has entrusted me to watch over everything that occurs that night, so please be nice and try not to be too raucous for my sake.
So here is the new rundown:
Friday 7PM SHARP!!: Dinner at Sam Won Gak 9-10 PM: Arrive at Cybercraft. Please have your $30s ready. You will be given plenty of hours to play BW and other games on the computers. Saturday 5 AM: Start watching OSL Finals. After OSL Finals: breakfast, maybe?
PLEASE RSVP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!! I NEED TO SUBMIT A LIST TO THE OWNER BY THURSDAY, SO PLEASE RSVP (put the number of guests you will be bringing as well) IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO!!
Current RSVP List:

So are you coming?
It's just eye-popping how much the entrance fee costs with BW events unlike the past. I mean it's sort standard these days with the whole sc2 community embracing the $10+$10/$10+$20 LAN model fee system. I don't know how much pull you have over the owners, but that's not a big deal. Just means that it's going to be an expensive weekend for me anyway, why not blow it all anyway.
oooooook, so I also don't have any place to stay (i'll continue to point all ten of my fingers at flamewheel.) Is there anyone near Queens who could let me crash on their floor for Friday / Saturday night? ><

Friday night you will be at Cybercraft all night anyways. Saturday night... I don't know.
Where are you, QuickStriker, l10f, and NeVeR? This is going to be a last hurrah for all the BW elitists. I might understand if micronesia wouldn't come since it happens so late, but this is the last chance for all of us!
Okay. I just renegotiated with the owner to lower the price to $25 for 6 hours of playing time + watching the OSL finals there. This price is final.
Please RSVP/CONFIRM if you have not done so already. Thank you.
Edit: The owner said he can accomodate up to 25 people now, so we have a little more room. Also even though you can bring outside food and drinks, I encourage you to buy a snack or drink from the Cybercraft front desk as a show of support.

What time does the actual match start (local time)? What time roughly would it end?

I reserved Sam Won Gak for dinner, so again please be there at 7PM sharp.
I'm starting to adjust my sleep schedule to prepare for the overnight. I went to bed at 3am last night; I will go to bed at 5am tonight; I will go to bed at 7am thursday/tomorrow night, and then I will be able to stay up late enough to eat breakfast with you guys and drive home Saturday "night". After that I guess I'll keep bumping it back 2 hours until I'm back on a normal schedule :p

Unfortunately, I won't have that option, so I'll probably try and get some sleep in Cybercraft. Even though I probably won't get any quiet/good sleep there anyway. Either that, or risk diabetes with the amount of soda I'll probably need.
So we have PCs, Mahjong and Mafia to occupy the time...
The new Cybercraft. Sorry the camera loses focus a lot. It is an old camcorder. When I film on Friday i'll have the focus on manual.
I currently have 14 real names (excluding me) on the list so far. If you have not already, please pm me your real name so that I can put you on the list by 6PM tomorrow.
I don't have a board though. Where would be a good spot to play?
I guess inside Cybercraft. There should be room for us to play. Besides, I want a physical board to show off my terrible dice-rolling skills! I don't have a board either..T.T
On August 02 2012 18:11 WakanakaTaka wrote: i'd like to reserve a slot if possible, but feel free to remove me if you want because i still have to speak to my parents about this!
Sure, Micronesia and I would play the Classic Risk board anyway to show off our understanding of the game. Should be fun to meet new people/old friends tomorrow!
Who said I was willing to go? what if i had plan? what if i had a date? what if i had ponies to watch? what if jpak leaves me at the 7 line stop and leaves with the crew where there was no way for them to tell me?
Ah, im outside Sam won gak, Shi and others should be here in a few. If you're already there come find us so we don't make a bunch of tables by accident xD
I'm glad I was able to watch this final finals with the great group of guys at the NYC meetup--thanks especially to jpak for organizing the event and live-translating, and LosingID8 for explaining to me the finer points of what was going on.
No thanks to Micronesia for arbitrarily calling my accusation that he was Mafia "bullshit" (since it wasn't; luckily we [the town] won anyway!) and to flamewheel for sleeping.
Mafia was very fun (though stressful...), and I apologize to all for my reaver "micro."

I knew I needed to convince the other two that you were the mafia instead of me (after my partner mafia self destructed) but I couldn't immediately think of any reason why you were mafia so I had to discredit what you were saying! :p
