I am planning on proposing to my girlfriend (Yay for me). I have a problem though. I am getting the ring custom made and it will take about four weeks. We are heading on an amazing vacation to South Africa on friday and next week we will be staying at a 5 star private game reserve. I was planning on asking her there but the ring won't be finished before we leave. So question is this... Should I ask her to marry me when we are somewhere truly special but without a ring, or should I wait till we get back? I won't be able to match the place here but I will have the ring. TLDR: Place/Occasion > Ring OR Ring > Place/Occasion I am leaning towards asking her without the ring mainly because the ring will last forever whilst the occasion will only happen once. But I know girls are somewhat irrational about engagement rings and the last thing I want is for her to feel like the proposal was underwhelming. The ring will be done by the time we arrive home so we can pick it up as soon as we land. | ||
