Without special circumstances i always refused to propose without the ring. I also got my partner's custom made and i waited months just so i could do it with the real thing.
But you are staying at a 5 star game reserve - find some beautiful sunrise and pop that fucking question!!!!! Get some cheap shit from Diva and put it in a ring box. In this situation, the ring can always come later but that experience is once in a lifetime

Thanks guys, that was one of the options I was thinking of. I'm actually going to video the stones and setting before we go so I can show her. I think a cheesy obviously fake ring will probably make her laugh and defuse the tension from the lack of something substantial 
The good news is that I got my bonus figure today and it is much bigger than I expected so I can go for quality stones. It took me longer to decide on what I wanted which is why I am in this pickle. I went from a standard single stone solitaire setting (classic) to a central diamond with a sapphire on each side (her favourite colour is blue). It's different but still classy.
I think I'll stop posting in this thread though. Don't want to clog it up. If you want to chat, send me a PM. Thanks again guys!

A lot play dota 2; including myself sometimes;
Sad to say is i probably play more HoN than SC2; i definitely watch more sc2 than anything else though haha

I play loads of other games, and most more than SC2 and I haven't touched BW for about 2 years. (games I've played as much as or more than SC2 this last year: Civ V, Shogun TW 2, Dragon Age 2, Skyrim, Mass Effect 2, Cities XL, Minecraft, Bejeweled, Tropico (4?), LoL and I know I'm forgetting some games... oh well they were probably some crappy tychoon games... I'm a sucker for them)
But I've watched way more starcraft than anything I've played. Probably about as much as I've played games in total.
