I've been following this thread for quite a while and now I wanted to ask you experts a question!
I've been working out for a year now and made some considerable progress (dropped about 20kg from 95kg to 75, now back up at 80ish because of creatine and holiday eating disasters height: 177cm = about 5'9'') but I never followed a real training "program"
normally I go to the gym 5-6 times a week and just work one or two areas (like shoulders + chest, biceps + triceps, legs) each session. but now I feel that my progress has become kinda stagnant the past few weeks.. some stats (personal bests): bench 5x75kg, squat 12x70kg (just started doing squats a couple of weeks ago), deadlift: 5x125kg
I have exams coming up the next 2 weeks so I wont really have time to hit the gym alot, but after that I thought about picking up SS and really follow that program strictly. does that make sense? or should I pick up some other program? or just continue my own "loosely structured" program?
I've been basically doing SS recently after getting back into weights, but I have been adding in various exercises on top of the 3 per workout as I am used to doing more as I worked out 4-5 times a week before I started college.
I look at starting strength as the foundation for building a balanced workout and then I have added an exercise for each workout that I vary so that I make sure to hit everything in a week without taking from my progress in gains that the program is designed for.
Eventually I'm just going to transition into a 4 a week program similar to what I used to do where I do a lot more different exercises in general. I've also upped my caloric intake and am getting all my macro nutrients so I'm feeling pretty comfortable restarting my workout program and I can't wait to see how the results turn out compared to my high school results.
Only on team liquid will you have a post like this :D!
So I am 20 weigh 165 and am currently benching 300 even. As of late I have been having some shoulder issues and was wondering if anyone could give me some good rotator cuff workouts? Workout details plus set/rep count I should be achieving please.

I'm liking Scarecrows for just general shoulder health:
Just pick a very light weight and do plenty of reps

I started training in May 2010 @ 6'4" tall weighing 185lb. I've been busting my ass at it 5 days a week ever since. I started out pretty dumb; not eating enough and form was shit. After a month or two of lazy research, I got myself set up on a clean ~4000cal/day diet and form is excellent. I'm 210lbs today with a slightly lower BF than the day I started :D
Just wanted to say thanks to the guys in this thread who seem to be human bodybuilding encyclopedias :D
Damn well done. Post strength stats?
Thanks!
My lifts started at: Bench 5x 115, Squat 5x 135, DL 5x 135 I'm currently at: Bench 5x 185lb, Squat 5 x 225lb, Deadlift 5x 225lb
Pretty sure I'd kill myself if I tried the shit I've been seeing in this thread lately though.. Snatch's and stuff.

Good shit. Going to start doing them today :D! Thankkksss
Any other good rehab rotator cuff exercises?
Nothing I can name really. I just pick up a pair of 2.5kg plates and wave my arms around before bench or shoulder press days.
You could on the other hand go to exrx.net and check out the exercise & muscle directory looking for the rotator cuff muscles (supraspinatus, infraspinatus and subscapularis). There you can find the function of the muscles. Pick up some weights (or not) and do the movement
@BoX: Nice progress but I believe you only began a long journey. Keep progressing!
EDIT: Today's workout:
Went and played badminton for an hour with my old practice partner. It's been over 11 months since I last played because of my knee injuries. Felt awesome to be back on the court. Hopefully we'll find a spare time tomorrow to play some more :D

Bench has gone up from 275 to 295 since i started olympic lifting and stopped benching. Funny eh? :-p This is the third or fourth time i've approached 300 and mysteriously been injured, if it happens again i know there is a conspiracy and probably never bench again... Did some cleans up to 245 just trying to work on keeping my hips low and finishing my pull (why is this so hard, esp without jumping T_T)
Trying to figure out what to try to do tomorrow for my last workout of the year...
If I had to venture a guess, most of the veterans here are going to recommend taking out pretty much everything, except the big lifts (e.g. squat/deadlift/bench).
But then again, it also depends on what your goal is. Are you trying to gain some kind of functional strength, or are you trying to be a body builder and primarily going for looks?

If you're not a beginner, I don't see any problems with trying out a bodybuilding split. As long as you have a solid strength base (built from bench/squat/deadlift), where you go from there is entirely your choice.
